UPDATE
‐—-‐——-
I have since received the resource files, about 2 weeks after requesting them and have had time to read sections of the book so I’ve updated this review to 4 stars. Dropping 1 for the issue I mentioned in the previous review below.
A lot of work and effort has gone into this book and the resource files are much better than I’d expected. They come as an accompanying Web site you download and can run straight from your computer which guides you through the book with the audio files made available withembedded links. Really quite excellent, providing you can get these files I would highly recommend this book. Its very thorough and detailed.
Original review
—-‐————–
This book is supposed to come with free resource files, which really are necessary if you want to get much from the book. To get them, you have to go to site linked in the book and although they are supposed to be free you still have to get them through either PayPal or Apple Pay. The PayPal link didn’t work for me and with the Apple Pay, I was charged £1.
The site tells you that the files will be manually emailed to you within 72 hours. Good Luck. Its been over a week and nothing. Don’t bother trying to ring the telephone number posted on the site, it just cuts out straight away.
The book at first glance seemed ok, but I need the files to hear the rhythms and after this experience… well its left a very bad taste in my mouth, so right now I don’t even want to look at it any further.
I think I may return it for refund to at least get my £24 back even though I’ll still be down £1.

Good book but could use an editor. Numerous spelling mistakes and typos. By the way Rick Snoman, ‘atypical’ does not mean ‘typical’, it means the opposite.

If any book should be referred to as a ‘Bible’ for music production it is this one. Written by a very experienced and high level professional, Rick Snoman delivers valuable information at an exceptional level. After reading it, and watching many of his tutorial DVDs, this book is always at hand for quick references. It is an absolute must for anyone who is serious about music production.

After reading this book I thought it is excellent. After owning a few dance music books, I still have learnt a lot from the dance music manual fourth edition. I highly recommend it to anyone who is starting out or has experience. This is great to learn a few new tricks or reinforce old ones.
