Edward Cavendish is the embodiment of British elite—composed, controlled, and permanently unimpressed.

Born into old money and even older expectations, he carries the weight of generations of stiff-upper-lip tradition and emotional repression.

A world-renowned surgeon.
A ruthless perfectionist.
A man who does not tolerate chaos.

Which is unfortunate.
Because I am chaos.

He grew up in a sprawling 120-room manor with chandeliers in every hallway and bidets in every bathroom.
I grew up in the staff quarters, peeking through the hedges at his world.

He has every reason to frown disapprovingly at me. And trust me—he does. A lot.

  • I’m his little sister’s best friend—the bad influence.
  • I had a disastrous fling with his younger brother.
  • His ice-queen mother loathes me.
  • My mum scrubs her floors.
  • I sell gardening tools on a late-night shopping channel… in a pleated miniskirt, no less.

We’re opposites in every way that matters.
He’s Savile Row; I’m thrift-store chic.
He’s vintage champagne; I’m corner-shop wine in a can. And honestly? I’m not even mad about it.

And now, thanks to an unfortunate turn of events, the most intimidating man in Britain has caught me in his bed.
Uninvited.
In a situation that’s… let’s call it compromising.

This isn’t just a disaster.
This is the disaster.

Rosa’s Manhattan series are of one of my favourite. I would strongly recommend them. The Brits have fallen short. This one, I alternated being embarrassed for Daisy and just cringing for her missing the red flags.

Really looked forward to this and enjoyed it. Given 4 stars purely based on my sheer frustration at the mfc. I found her exhibitionist behaviour and inability to curb her rants difficult to stomach.

Downloaded this bang on midnight and wasn’t disappointed. Reading a book by Rosa Lucas is such a joy. Makes your day feel better! Love the character and the banter in her stories. More power to her pencil, or maybe her laptop! Can’t wait for next one.

This was such a great read. I love an opposites attract love story and these two are definitely opposites. I laughed a lot and the ending was perfect.

I think this is Rosa’s beat so far. A great plot, characters are well defined. Good tension and super hilarious at times. If you like Emily Henry you will love this. Highly recommended.

In a short amount of time I have become a huge fan of Rosa Lucas. After reading all her books and loving them all, Dare to love me is my favourite one yet! Daisy and Edward’s story is chef’s kiss.
Edward, the grumpy doctor billionaire who also is Daisy’s best friends older brother and her ex-boyfriends older brother too.
Daisy is a ball of sunshine and gorgeous too. Daisy’s grown up with the family as her mum is their maid. Total opposites attract, but they just work so well together.
It has some hilarious moments and even funnier banter. Daisy, whose job is on the late night shopping channel has a huge fan base. Edward is her number one fan!
Absolutely loved reading this book. Completely devoured it in one day.

As always, Rosa Lucas delivered a HIT! Completely addicted. Had me rolling with laughter at times, other times unable to hold in my chuckles. That’s nothing new with her but what this book did that her others haven’t was tug at my heart strings hard enough to give me tears! I actually cried! And twice, had to take a break to continue because I couldn’t take it. The kicker.. I’m not an overly emotional person. But I felt Everything with this book. I want more of these two!

Fabulous characters, such a compelling story with genuine laugh out loud and lumps in throat moments! Didn’t want it to end.

I read this on the recommendation of the author Susie Tate, who too writes fabulous stories. This is another one, Rosa Lucas has written a funny, witty and in parts embarrassing story that I loved. It was so enjoyable with the irreverent Daisy and the stuffy, highbrow Edward. It did have shades of Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett, the 2005 version for me, and there was a little surprise at the end.
Great characters, so well written and a delight to read. I’m sorry it’s ended

From the very first page, I was utterly captivated by this sensational love story. The writing is sheer perfection; Daisy and Edward are brilliantly crafted characters, each with their own quirks, struggles and strengths that make their journey together all the more compelling. The chemistry between Daisy and Edward is electric, making their opposites-attract dynamic a thrilling ride from start to finish.

This book is an emotional rollercoaster that left me breathless and weary, in the best way possible. I highly recommend this gem to anyone who loves a rich, emotional love story with plenty of spice. No words can truly capture how much I adored this book.

I laughed, I cried, I rolled my eyes—in the best way. Daisy is chaos in a crop top, emotionally impulsive and wildly lovable as a late-night TV sales queen. Edward is a grieving, emotionally constipated surgeon who probably schedules his feelings in five-minute increments. They’re a trainwreck combo that somehow works when no one else is watching—but throw in public judgment and everything goes sideways. Do they figure it out? Of course. But not before some high drama and sizzling chemistry. The rich guy/poor girl trope gets a messy, heartwarming upgrade.

Oh my days this story will have tears running down your cheeks with laughter, lovely mix of comedy and of course romance, daisy couldn’t be more opposite to Edward. Edward is a skilled surgeon and comes from old money background whereas daisy is just a I want to say ordinary girl but truly there is nothing ordinary about daisy lol. This is another wonderful story by the very talented Rosa Lucas, you won’t regret buying it for sure😍

Daisy and Edward together ❤ hilarious, witty comedy of an opposite attraction and the British classes. I laughed out loud at Daisy’s Britbox shopping channel scenes and of course Edward finally gets his act together so love conquers all ❤💘💗
