Truly enjoyable read, following a lifetime of adventures and deals in the antiques trade.

This story is such a lovely read. I confess; I read it slightly under duress as the daughter of the author, having been pestered to ‘have a look at his book’ after he wrote down stories of his life as an antiques dealer during the covid lockdown. Having promised again and again I would read it, I finally sat down in summer 2022 and read the rough google doc, supplemented with handwritten pages. I started reading and couldn’t stop. A wonderful collection of stories making up a lifetime and I feel priviliged to have been a part of this. The final book is very much worth taking to an armchair with.

I will be upfront in letting you know that I am the author’s son and lived through most of the adventures described in the book. It really is fascinating though, and brought back many memories.
For most readers, who of course were not part of this journey, I am sure that it will be an even more interesting read! Especially if you like antiques, dealing, entrepreneurial life stories, or would just enjoy a nostalgic trip through time, from the late fifties through to today.
Heartfelt, honest and true. The storytelling is wonderful.
