Death’s Obsession: A Paranormal Dark Romance
£7.90
He’s coming for you.
Death is meant to come on a chariot of broken dreams or in the dark trenches of a storm, not in love letters and gifts.
He did not take my soul when I was meant to die. He did not want it all the other times that I’ve offered it to him on a silver platter. Yet, time and time again, he reminds me that I am his: His night monster, his dark love, his perfect other.
Death was the only thing keeping me alive. He watches me from his corner, taunts me with sweet messages, marks my body with his touch as I sleep.
He took the people that I love away from me. Still, no one believed me when I said that I saw the faceless man on the night of the accident.
No one can escape death.
Me? I’m chasing it.

I did enjoy this story, but I found it to be very short, disappointingly so…I would definitely have enjoyed a more in depth storyline with more of a build up in their relationship.

3.75 stars. This was a really fun novella, I loved the little notes and trinkets Death would leave Lilith and the way he was always there but she couldn’t see him. I have to keep reminding myself that this is a novella because I wanted so much more from Letum and Lilith, their story is so heartbreaking and wholesome at the same time. I loved Lilith’s growth and the smut was amazing too, those shadows of his… oh my haha.

beautiful art work for the cover of the book!
i’m not one to write reviews but my god, when I tell you,I got hooked on this book the moment I started reading it,one thing I adore is that it’s not a slow burn bok,it gets straight to the poit and keeps the reader interested! the relationship between Letum and Lilith is beyond amazing,i’m speechless at how much I adored this book,if I could read it over again for the first time I would!
the intimacy but the roughness was perfect, the chemistry is what I even wish for and I agree shadow daddies are hot.
I highly recommend and I hope to see more stuff like this!

This is a short paranormal romance story. The author takes grief and uses it well with the main female character. She has taken the time to develop the characters. This story does have a plot. It is worth a read. I’ve given it 3 stars for lack of worldbuilding, and too much telling narrative.

What can I say. . . I’m in love with death.
Don’t analyse that too much.
From the dedication I was instantly hooked, then the beginning of chapter one just cemented that.
‘Death’s Obsession’ is a dark paranormal novella which deals with topics that may be triggering for some. Please check trigger warnings.
Firstly, I loved how this book deals with difficult subjects such as grief, mental illness and death. It shows how each aspect blends and influences the other. I think the author approached these topics really well and with care. Showing that every individual deals with things in their own way.
Our FMC Lilith is dealing with the aftermath of a traumatic event that left her alone. She struggles to cope—not just with survivors guilt but with coming to terms with the fact that she lost her twin sister. She has no motivation to live and is broken.
Lilith is being stalked by a ‘Faceless Man’ as she likes to refer to him as. He leaves her love letters, gifts and goes as far as visiting Lilith in her dreams.
Others think she’s crazy but she knows he’s real.
“Letum is who I was made for. Death comes in the darkness and light, but for him, I will come in a storm.”
Her development is one of pure satisfaction because at first we see a broken character but then she grows and accepts what has happened, she begins her healing process and it’s just so lovely to witness.
“Even at the risk of losing it all, I would fall for her. For if I were Icarus and she were the sun, I would still fly to her with my waxen wings.”
Now, LETUM (my man). Well he’s just everything. You may find it ironic how Lilith is asking for death, but then it turns out death is the only one who can help her feel alive again. However, I loved reading about their relationship.
Letum is a man obsessed. In all sense of the word. He spoils his girl rotten and gives her everything she could need. Death is the one by Lilith’s side helping her to heal her soul.
I mean obviously he has an agenda. . . He wants to claim his ‘night monster’.
“Today I watched the most otherworldly soul smile as she gazed upon a flower. Though my heart is greedy because I only want her to smile for me.”
The ending for me wasn’t that surprising, but it also wasn’t predictable. It was exactly what Lilith and Letum needed. Although, it does somewhat contradict her healing process, it made sense as the only way that they could be together.
“I give you my soul. For the rest of eternity, it is yours. Even in death, I am yours.”
I honestly loved this so much and would recommend to anyone who’s looking for something quick and easy that’s got a really good amount of smut… I mean shadow play, dare I say more?!
In all seriousness, where do I find myself a Letum?

This book is more than a love story,it’s a story of pain, dispear, depression ,love and finally acceptance. Lilith is trying to put her life together after a tragedy, but can’t, she’s losing herself and those around her, she’s been plagued by what she thinks is hallucinations even though she knows there real, death is obsessed with Lili and loved her but is also trying to save her from her broken self. I loved seeing lilith grow, my only reason for not giving 5 stars was the ending felt a little rushed and more clarification could of been given to give better closure.
