A very good thrilling legal story which was very difficult to put down. The way people treat each other always amazes me.

A fairly well placed thriller with good characterisation, great plot twists that was hard to put down, despite the initial slow start. It’s not John Grisham but still very enjoyable. I think it’s a pity we don’t get to see more of the relationships between characters, especially Cass & Killian & I hope it isn’t really the end of their relationship. The outcome of the trial is almost an anti-climax. It seems to be heading to a dramatic end of surprise witnesses & sudden revelations but then the drama is suddenly cut short and there’s only Cass’ power of persuasion for the jury to base a verdict on so it’s almost a little contrived. The characters are generally likeable, although there’s still not a lot of depth to those other than the heroine. Killian & Cass’ family are still a bit 2 dimensional considering this is the third book in the series. Nevertheless, once the plot picks up there’s plenty of drama & nail-biting as it races towards it’s conclusion. Looking forward to the next one.

This was enjoyable because, finally, it was different to the first two. A few mistakes…..one in court saying they would hear testimony the following morning, and then saying have a good weekend. But on the whole it makes me want to read number four.

I’ve read all 3 in the Cass Leary series and I enjoyed this one the most. It was nice that the main theme wasn’t based around her family. Excellent read and I look forward to the new release.

It’s not the story or outcome that are predictable; it’s more that the author has a good template, a strong line up of characters and an interesting plot . Like the first two books, it’s excellent
