Recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes – so purchased this book alongside “Diabetes Cookbook for Dummies”.
First time I have used the “Dummies” range of books – they definitely have their own style of presentation.
I very quickly gained a working knowledge of what type 2 diabetes entailed – I was on a very steep learning curve.
Being of a certain age – I wish the measurements in the book were in stones / pounds & ounces – fortunately I am still able to do the maths!
An informative book – that will help a person to start to understand a diagnosis of diabetes. The diagnosis in turn can have numerous complications – which are covered in the book.
A good reference book to help someone diagnosed with diabetes.

I was able to find out some information from this book – it was far too complex for what I was looking for and I had to wade though page upon page to find out the basics I was looking for. Ok if you need to know the ins and outs of every senario known to man

A clearly written explanation of diabetes in laymans’ terms. Goes into the subject in great depth, and even answers questions you hadn’t thought of. More of a reference work than a straight read through, and I find myself consulting it on a regular basis. A must buy for the newly diagnosed diabetic.

I bought this for my newly diagnosed, diabetic sister who really did not understand diabetes at all.
The information is simply presented in small, short and factual segments. Very easy to understand.
The book might have benefited from some sample menus.
Happy to recommend.
I hope you find my review helpful 😊

My husband has recently been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes but the book they gave us at the clinic was full of technicalities but low on practicalities. We needed to get simple, clear information as quickly as possible about how to manage his condition since he was not taking the medication offered but preferred to deal with it by diet adjustment alone. This book is a Godsend. Down to earth, clear information and written in a light-hearted way instead of all the doom and gloom. Just what we needed. I would recommend this book to anyone with diabetes, particularly if they are newly diagnosed and still finding their way around. 500 stars!!!!

As with all the “Dummies†books- is v informative about s complex subject, but enough humour to break it up. You may need to do as we did, read small amounts at a time to take it in.
Makes you super aware how much sugar is pumped into our food!! Extremely good book on a serious life- threatening topic to help bring you back from a high level A1 C diagnosis.
