Poor reproduction or maybe poor photography lead to the images being so dark. Also a bit bemused as to why so many images were presented in B&W when Digbeth is so vibrant and colourful. Frustratingly the point of interest too often featured in the spine of the book so you couldn’t see it. Some good images but ultimately not for me. I sent it back.

Recently visited Digbeth with my boyfriend and loved the place especially all around the old custard factory area, when we got back I had a look initially for some artwork of the local graffiti artists then saw this book. Got it on next day delivery , the tracking of parcel was spot on and my boyfriend was very impressed with the contents of the book, he took it to his work to show a colleague who is also a fan off this area of Birmingham. A great keepsake of the memories of when we were there.

This is a nice collection of images. Well taken and thought through. I like the way it moves from black and white into color, it gives you a more angular view of the area. A great coffee table book.

A fine collection of street photos from a part of Birmingham which has seen many changes over the years but has maintained its uniqueness as part of the city. Parker captures the hubbub of Digbeth , but also its sleepiness and the myriad of the colourful characters captured almost unaware of the photographer.

Nigel Parker, with his excellent photography, has captured some of the best characters and landmarks of Digbeth in this very interesting book. I would highly recommend it.
