This is a really superb book. It covers a huge amount of ground and covers every aspect of the football industry, including club finances, player transfers, image rights, representation deals and TV rights. The book contains a lot of detail but it is set out in a very digestible way. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to delve a little deeper into the world we as football fans think we know so well.

I am a keen football fan and follower of the game. This book is a great overview of where the game is now and the impact of various business and sporting bodies on the game. The subject is written by somebody with a love and passion for the game. If you want to know and understand better the business of football, this is the book for you.

Fantastic Book for a young budding law student – really opened my eyes to the many routes available to me as jobs. I can’t wait to combine passion for both football and law and see where I end up.

As a premier league and football fanatic who hopes to work in the football industry one day, I found this book incredible.
The detail and insights into so many different aspects of the inside football world made you learn so much. The references back to the incredible past of the premier league is what makes the book special. The Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano story along with the implications was my personal highlighg

Look the author is an incredibly able individual who has an in depth knowledge of football and the area of law surrounding the transfer market.

He does a good job covering the subject matter … It’s just that the subject matter in the fine detail of contracts in turgid and uninteresting to most.

I had expected it to have more of a focus on the business side of the industry (as in the wheeling-and-dealing) rather than a legalese perspective – which to be honest is my problem not the authors fault.

I got about a third of the way through before moving on to another book (which I rarely do). I have to finish it over the summer or before the start of the next season because of the frenetic pass of the transfer market the examples given are already out of date and in some cases the players only dim and distant memories.

Truth is this reads a bit too much like a Corporate Lawyer presenting to potential Clients.
You can almost see the Powerpoint slides !

There frankly isn’t enough gossip and unsubstantiated speculation!
