Dracula (Deluxe Hardbound Edition): A Timeless Novel of Gothic Fiction Vampire Novel Horror Classic Transylvania Victorian Era Supernatural Creatures … and Bloodlust Perfect…

£3.80

This is a beautiful hardbound edition of Dracula that comes with gilded edges and elegantly designed endpapers. Dracula is an epistolary novel, written as a collection of realistic but completely fictional diary entries, telegrams, letters, ship’s logs, and newspaper clippings, all of which add a level of detailed realism to Stoker’s story. At the time of its publication, Dracula was considered a ‘straightforward horror novel’ based on imaginary creations of supernatural life. Dracula has been assigned to many literary genres including vampire literature, horror fiction, the gothic novel, and invasion literature. The novel touches on themes such as the role of women in Victorian culture, sexual conventions, immigration, colonialism, and post-colonialism. Although Stoker did not invent the vampire, he defined its modern form through this novel.

Really quite amazing, gorgeous hardback design with bats, reflective gold accents and filigree patterns that remind me of the haunted mansion! Has a ribbon page setter too which I always love in books and the side view of the pages are gold, another detail I’m a sucker for.
Pages are like other reviews suggest a little thin and ‘newspaper’ in feel but this doesn’t bother me as it feels more classic. have purchased the book for more display anyways as I already own a few variant copies of Dracula
Price is pretty reasonable for this book too so I can’t complain and shipment + delivery was a lot faster than the estimate. Arrived a whole week before it’s estimated date.

While I love the book some pages are gray rather than black which makes me think that the printer was running low on ink at times. The pages are quite thin as others have pointed out but I don’t mind as it adds to the feel and character, also like others the majority of the pages were stuck together due the gold added to the edges but they came apart easily enough. The cover had a few minor scratches which must have happened before packing. Delivered on time. Would of been 5* if it didn’t have the small issue. Nice looking book to add to my growing collection.

This book is just stunning and fits so nicely into my collection really well. The Gold sprayed edges are stunning.

Was looking for edition that could reflect the spirit of Victorian times. Golden edges, thin paper that gives impression of old newspaper and cover with bat on it. You can feel like reading some old book. Yes, the gold paint makes some pages stick together but for me this wasn’t a problem.

Possibly the worst book I’ve ever bought. Obviously a classic but ruined by the poor paper quality.
The print from the next page is nearly as clear as the first so incredibly difficult to read. I can’t see it lasting more than one read without tearing.
Unfortunately it was bought as a gift and so I need to keep it but definitely an edition to avoid.

Pages are really thin but what’s worse is the barcode and price in Canadian dollars has been printed directly onto the back.

Ruins the looks a fair amount

I wanted a nice hardback edition of Dracula and this looked just the ticket. When I received it I was, initially, very pleased. Quality looking cover with gold edges to the pages, along with a book ribbon something I haven’t seen for a long time. Then I opened it and tried to turn the pages. The gold on the page edges has obviously been painted or sprayed on and the pages are stuck together. If you have a good letter knife/opener it is possible to run this along the page edges and separate them but it has to be done gently so you don’t rip or damage them. This book would have had at least another star from me if it hadn’t had this problem.
