Bought this based on the generally favourable reviews and the interesting sounding premise. Sadly the “Master” who is meant to be all powerful does absolutely nothing for the entire book. The rest of the cast are not specifucally noted as of being any perticular age but from their antics and complete inability to do anything right I am left feeling that they are all about 13 years old… Thus making the sex scene towards the end of the book REALLY questionable.
The concept for the world is quite interesting and could make for a deep and complex story arc if handled right.
I see that the writer is extremely prolific (roughly a book a month), a lot of them look to have interesting ideas but if they are all as shallow as this one it is a huge let down and I can suddenly see how they are knocked out at such a rate.
I wanted to enjoy this but I just couldn’t.

Enjoyable book with some interesting characters. Though the evil master does not seem very evil?

Started this has ran out of series to read was abit hmm at first but more I read the more I enjoyed a great first book in a potentially great series

Whilst the concept is interesting, the execution was dull. My mind kept wandering, easily distracted where a good book draws me in until it is finished. I got maybe 100 pages in before I gave up, the casual misogyny the final nail in the coffin. I have no idea how this became a multi-book series.

One of the best by this author (AKA Logan James, Simon Archer)
