A good 3 in 1 book. Grammar is good and includes examples. Verbs are given in all their tenses without explanation, includes an index of other verbs and links to their similar declensions. Vocabulary is not a dictionary, organised by themes in English. You may like this but it is of no use to me. Includes a useful but small supplementary vocabulary organised under parts of speech (Conjuctions, Adverbs etc.): good but brief and hard to find as not colour coded like the other main sections (look at page 648 of the vocabulary section to find it).
Clue is in the title small print: Easy Learning. Large title ‘Complete French’ is far from correct, even if it refers to the three sections. Does not include any prononciation guide.

I bought into duo lingo but wanted to understand more of the principles of what I was learning by repetition. This book is a good compliment when you want to do that, or get fed up staring at a screen. It doesn’t keep telling you that you’re not doing your homework which is also a bonus!

This is the second book that I have bought. Not the second ever, but the second of this book. I bought one for myself to use to supplement the French “lessons” I go to. My wife was so impressed that she asked me to buy one for her.
There are lots of words in this book. It’s very good value for money. In fact it’s 3 books in one. What good value.
Anyway, the 3 books are good. There’s a grammar part that explains stuff well, like what a pronoun is, and what reflexive past imperfect verbs look like (purple apparently). There is also a handy vocabulary book that is split into different sections like body parts, gardens, travel etc.
The one down side is that you can’t look up a word in English to see what the French word is.
Otherwise it would have had a 5 stars.
But it’s a great book, and I read it a lot. All those words.

The book is very compact and not too bulky. There are English translations next to the french questions hence book ideal for revision purposes or to further enhance their French vocabulary
