Could do with more colours. But my children finds it easy to follow.

I bought this book to teach myself, my 5 year old who has really good fine motor skills and 3.5 year old who’ll most likely just eat the paper. I have not sat with them yet to see how interested they are but what I can say is that I have tried a few of the projects myself and, as cack-handed as I am, have found them incredibly easy.

I also bought proper origami paper which makes it easier as each side of the paper is a different colour. However, I didn’t check the size before buying and they are so small it’s like the origami equivalent of bonsai. Tip for all purchasers of this book – buy large origami paper or use newspaper.

Bought this as a gift for my 8 year old nephew. (He wanted to try origami and was given a kit, but the directions were condensed, and not easy to follow, so frustrating.) This book was quite easy for him, and he was getting through 100 sheets of paper quite quickly, with a big smile.

This book is great and has many of the common starter origami designs, described in a way which is easy to follow. Unfortunately I made the assumption that the crane would be one of the most popular designs and would therefore be in this book which is not the case. Given that I purchased to book in order to start making 1000 cranes it has been of little use to me so far, though I am sure this will be redeemed in the future.

Trying to do this with my 6 and 4y old and having a hard time to follow the instructions. I had to google many designs. Not ideal

Very simple creations but not the best instructions between stages of each fold. I would look for something better next time

The patterns are great and well-illustrated and for that the book deserves 5 stars. The reason I gave it just four is that this level is usually for children, and the book would surely benefit from a more fun and colorful approach. I understand of course this would bring the price up, but my kids took one glance at it and never bothered again. Not what I would have liked. It might be perfect for more mature beginners.
