This book is brilliant for getting your head around a difficult subject. Right from the start it makes things so clear with easy to understand methods. It’s great for dipping in and out when you need a particular point clarifying. It is also very witty which makes it fun to read and never boring. I can’t recommend this book highly enough for both students and teachers.

Exceptional Book. Many people have sloppy grammar. This book corrects it all. You read it like a novel, there’s no having to do written exercises. As you read each chapter it easy to see where you have been going wrong. It’s a false belief that bad grammar writing means the writer is a dunce. Go through this book from beginning to end and you will be writing like a professional. It truly is a five star book.

If you have a passion for writing but need to hone your skill – following writing “rules” – this is a down to earth, easy to follow, rules book. Tips, hints and advice all explained in a great way. Dip in and out or start from the start – whatever you need is in here.

    3 points to note.
    1. I am a dyslexic.
    2. I learned nothing at school and
    3. I am old.

English has always troubled me. I can’t read, I “study”. Read chapter 1 and I loved it. I have learned that my review here is in conversational English and I understand there are two important forms of grammar, descriptive and functional.

I bought this book because to succeed it helps massively to know your English. I hope it will help me to help my girls.

This book is not aimed at dummies, It is pitched significantly higher than most secondary schools teach grammar. The layout is not good. I would expect to begin with the syntax of sentences – this book begins with the various forms of verbs and then carries on at the same level going higher fairly quickly. This is not what I expect from a ‘Dummies Book’ which are usually well structured.

I loved this book! I have never read about or studied English grammar before, however, this easy-language book has inspired me to study English grammar until I thoroughly get it. All those annoying and tiny details that you know deep down that you should understand are revealed to you in a permanent way in this book. For example, correct punctuation and what is the definite article? Or what are the indefinite articles? What are adverbs? You have got to read a whole book about English grammar to actually get it engraved into your mind. Dictionaries and the internet will not do. There are many such simple grammatical mistakes and pitfalls that are avoided or corrected in this awesome book. The good news is that anyone of any age can scrub up their English grammar and if English is your first language, you will feel like a genius.
