“Evergreen” by Lydia Millen had the potential to be an engaging read. The author’s ideas and honesty were quite intriguing, making it an interesting choice for those curious about it. However, the overall reading experience was marred by sloppy writing, inconsistent tenses, and a lack of proper grammar and punctuation. These issues made it challenging to fully immerse oneself in it. Despite its shortcomings, I can’t help but feel that a second book, with more attention to writing quality, could truly shine….

Sadly not what I was expecting, thought it was going to be about nature and the seasons. It’s beautifully illustrated but it’s all about the Authors life which is quite frankly boring.

I have been following Lydia since the very beginning. Congratulations Lydia and well done!
This book cover is stunning and the illustrations are beautiful.
As I delved into its pages, I found myself reconnecting with nature and rediscovering the power of living in the present moment.
From the very first chapter, the author’s words resonated deeply within me. In a world that often feels chaotic and fast-paced, this book served as a gentle reminder to slow down, take a breath, and appreciate the smaller things in life. The author’s emphasis on soaking up the small details and simply looking around us struck a chord within me, prompting me to reevaluate my own priorities and reconnect with the world around me.
What sets this book apart is its profound connection to nature. As someone who finds solace and strength in the natural world, I was delighted to discover that the author shared this sentiment. Their vivid descriptions of the beauty found in nature reminded me of the healing power it possesses. Through their words, I was encouraged to spend more time outdoors, to immerse myself in the sights, sounds, and scents of the natural world, and to allow it to guide me through both the good and the bad times.
The author’s guidance on cultivating resilience through mindfulness and embracing the present moment allowed me to develop a deeper sense of self-awareness, self love and appreciation for the world around me. These exercises served as gentle reminders to slow down, to be present, and to find joy in the simplest of things.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone seeking inspiration, guidance, and a renewed sense of resilience. Whether you are navigating through challenging times or simply looking to reconnect with the beauty of life and the seasons, EVERGREEN will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on you. Embrace its wisdom and slow down just a little.
Oh and if you love food there are some lovely recipes inside.

I’ve been a follower of Lydia for a few years but regardless of this, I absolutely love the book. It is beautifully written and feels like a cosy talk with a close friend.
It has prompted me to reflect on my own perspective of nature and the seasons – particularly Winter which I do struggle with. It’s a book I know I will pick up at some point each year when I need it. What a calming read!
Thank you Lydia x

Congratulations Lydia – I couldn’t put this book down!
Yesterday I collected my Evergreen book from Waterstones a day before the official release and last night I wasn’t able to put the book down, it is FANTASTIC! Better than I ever expected and I already had high expectations. I have also ordered the audio version on Audible to listen to while walking. Lydia pours everything into the book about her own personal experiences and how walking in nature has really helped her survive and thrive.
I have been following Lydia’s journey since the early days of her YouTube channel and I first stumbled upon her fashion content after my sister had passed away. In times of grief Lydia’s content was a source of inspiration and comfort, she wasn’t just sharing her style tips but also much of her life which is no easy task. Over the years Lydia’s style, content and tastes have evolved and continued to inspire me especially the seasonal content which she shares in this book. I have seen Lydia go through much controversy, hate and online bullying over the years and found it horrendous and often wondered how Lydia coped through it all. I recently read Steven Bartlett’s book Diary of a CEO and he says something along the lines of 80% of people won’t like you and 20% will and that is ok. You have to stand for what you believe in and won’t please everyone and that’s a good thing.
The book is a triumph and a true walk with Lydia through the seasons as she offers advice on how to live your best life, take inspiration from your surroundings and thrive through the highs and the lows.
What a marvellous read and even the lady on the counter in Waterstones said – wow that is a pretty book!
Buy it!!! Lydia I am already awaiting your next book – Thank you for sharing your journey and wisdom with us.

Having flipped through the book this afternoon, I’m unsure as to what it is actually about? It jumps from ‘what I’m eating this season’ to random stories that just don’t make sense? This is essentially blog posts and random thoughts on paper. It’s certainly not a book an ‘author’ should be proud of.
The quality of the book itself is poor, the printing makes the book confusing to read with lines jumping onto a random page due to an illustration on another.
Lydia has also requested people buy the book to use as a decorative piece, unfortunately it is not a book that can be read or displayed.
Unfortunately for Lydia, I suspect this is another venture that has failed.

I ordered this book as I love pretty books for display and heard good reviews on the actual book.
Haven’t started reading yet as I just received it but the actual book presentation on the cover is a mess!! I’ve never received a book like this, I was really surprised.
The font looks like it’s bled over the lines and too chunky. Sent it back for a exchange so hopefully it’s a one off but not what I expected.
I know it’s just a cover and you obviously want the contents, but books like this I love to display and this is not one I want to display.
