Faking It with the Forward: Wittmore U Hockey
£3.90
What happens when the captain of the hockey team kisses you in front of his ex?
Things get awkward.
What happens when he asks you to be his fake girlfriend?
Things get complicated.
In the high-pressure world of varsity hockey at Wittmore U, being the team intern means more than overseeing grueling workouts and injuries. It’s the colossal egos of the players that truly test my patience. Even if they did see me as something more than another locker room fixture created to tend to their bodies, my boss has made one thing clear:
I’m off limits.
All of that changes in a heartbeat when Reese Cain, the team’s womanizing captain, plants a surprise kiss on me in the campus coffee shop. Suddenly, I’m thrust into the spotlight, and not for my awkward charm. The captain, it seems, has ulterior motives—he needs to stay focused on the season, while convincing his ex that he’s not available. Apparently, I’m the perfect pawn in his game.
For someone who’s more comfortable in hoodies than house parties, fake dating Reese is enough to bolster both my confidence and social status. But the longer we keep up the charade, and our barriers start to crumble, it’s hard to know what’s real and what’s fake.
Especially how good he makes it feel to belong to him.
Faking It with The Forward is a standalone, m/f, college, hockey, fake dating romance by best selling author, Angel Lawson.

I received an ARC of this from the author! (My thoughts are my own)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
????️????️????️
I adored this book, it was a nice light pallet cleanser after the authors Royals of Forsyth series!
The characters have so much depth and I truly felt that they could be real people!
Reese- radiates himbo energy but is actually kinda smart and sweet! Hockey lad and honestly I would love to have him as a brother (I’m ????️???? so not boyfriend)
Twyler- Found her name difficult to get used to at first. She’s got some self confidence issues and stuff because of her shitty ex! But she really cares for Reese and the team even if it takes her a while to admit it.
I love the plot of this with the fake dating trope, but it was done in such a way that it kept me hooked!!!
ADORED the little mention of the cult of Serendee!!!!!
I genuinely can’t wait to see what Angel brings us next from this series! (I’m hoping for a little bit of happiness and settling down for Nadia)

Really enjoyed reading this. Couldn’t put it down. Loved the characters and romance. Different from Angel’s other books in that it is not dark, just a great love story. Will be reading again.

Solid 4 stars. You get exactly what you expect, solid writing and plot from Angel, good slow burn factor, adequate spice. Little nod to our fav cult. It’s not a re-reader for me, but it’s a good one time round read ????

Angel you know how to write a perfect story, whether it’s dark or sweet – you nail it every time. You weren’t the on,y one who needed a palate cleanser so thank you.

I love a good Fake relationship especially a sports romance.
Twy was shy and hadn’t had the best experience with guys. Reese was popular and Captain of the hockey team, they don’t sound very compatible…. Or are they???
Twyler and Reese were lush together, their chemistry was ????.
