Despite living in an actual castle, happily ever after is evading Margaret ‘Maggie’ Moore.
From her bedroom in the Tower of London, twenty-six-year-old Maggie has always dreamed of her own fairy-tale ending.
Yet this is twenty-first century London, so instead of knights on white horses, she has catfish on Tinder. And with her last relationship ending in spectacular fashion, she swears off men for good.
And then a chance encounter with Royal Guard Freddie forces Maggie to admit that she isn’t ready to give up on love just yet… But how do you catch the attention of someone who is trained to ignore all distractions?
Can she snare that true love’s first kiss… or is she royally screwed?
Love is in the heir in this royally good rom com – perfect for anyone who likes relatable heroines (with great hair), hot and aloof book boyfriends (with great hats), near misses, almost kisses and a corgi or two.

I haven’t read this book yet but the storyline made me rush to buy this. I first saw it on TikTok and was hurrying to put this in my basket. I have read the first chapter and can’t wait to read the rest.

Really good romance story, except that it felt like there was a lot of rubbish filler and the ending was really really rushed, it was really unpolished and frankly a bit of a letdown. This story was really promising it just felt like the author should have spent more time on it, like it wasn’t quite ready to put out yet, finished in less than a day though, it did kill a few hours. Good book.

I’ve been wanting to read this book since Megan first shared she was writing a romance book set in The Tower of London. I’ve read this book 3 times now and it honestly is so incredible. I’m a huge history nerd so I love finding out new information about The tower of London through the book.
The way the tower, the guardsmen and beefeaters are described in the book is incredibly detailed from this you can clearly tell Megan has a deep connection with the tower which she does as she lives in the Tower of London. I personally feel like this makes the book that extra bit special.
It’s a perfect book for a little history lesson mixed in with a beautifully written and adorable romance book.
Maggie the main character is the first main character I’ve come across in a romance book for a long time where they are seen as incredibly relatable. I felt myself getting so connected to the book as it was incredibly relatable on a lot of different levels.
This book was everything I dreamed of and more!! It was a lovely comforting read so I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance book and to anyone who is a history geek too.

I really liked this book. It has a lot of great things about it: facts, romance, context & sexy men.
I do however wish that the book was a little longer, it felt rushed from about chapter 17(ish) and I wish I had a little more towards the ending.
However don’t let that stop you from reading a good book. I hope she can do more.
Is military romance the new fave genre ?
