Very interesting. First time I ever read anything about fashion and I enjoyed it a lot. I found it very compelling to flick through and see the illustrations. I especially enjoyed learning about historical clothing.

A brilliant book, purchased for my friend’s daughter, who is easily bored. However this book has really piqued her interest, she’s taken it to school and is really keen to learn more. I really struggled to part with the book, and would like a copy for myself…. I studied fashion history as part of a module on design and decorative art at uni, many years back, and this book is academic and factual whilst still engaging younger minds too. There are many illustrations, so it is visually exciting also. Thoroughly worth the money!

Excellent coverage, impressive and well-produced (large!) book, very good value. It gives a thorough insight into the development of clothing and fashion from the earliest times up to now, with some forays into the quirks along the way. Good for dipping into as well as reading to produce a continuous narrative.
