Includes a 30-Day fasting reset that uses the power of your cycle―even if you no longer have one!
A go-to fasting manual created specifically to address women’s needs based on their hormones and menstrual cycle by Dr. Mindy Pelz, a well-known expert on women and fasting, whose fast-growing YouTube channel has become the destination for women who want to learn about fasting.
Are you among the many women who feel unheard and unseen by their doctors and health professionals? Have you become exhausted by the promise of quick-fix diets that only leave you disappointed? Well in Fast Like a Girl, Dr. Mindy helps you to take back control of your health by using the quickest path back to better health―fasting.
While most fasting advice has been a one-size-fits-all approach that leaves women with more questions than answers, in this book Dr. Mindy shares the proven strategies, specific protocols to use if you are trying to overcome a condition, fasting hacks, and tools that she has used to help hundreds of thousands of women thrive with their fasting lifestyles.
Dr. Mindy will teach you:
· the rights steps on how to go from eating all day to intermittent fasting (13-15 hours)
· how to safely fast longer if you choose to do so (15-72 hours)
· how to time fasting according to your menstrual cycle (although if you don’t have a cycle, she has you covered)
· the best foods to break your fast to achieve better metabolic health
This book also includes more than 50 recipes based on the two food plans―ketobiotic and hormone feasting―she created to best support women’s hormones. And, it has recipes specifically created to break a fast such as her Coconut Cacao Chia Pudding.
Inspired by the thousands of women she has worked with who have reclaimed their health with fasting, Dr. Mindy wrote this book because, “once a woman knows how to build a fasting lifestyle around her cycle, she becomes unstoppable.”

This book is brilliant and transformed my approach to intermittent fasting. I love how it links it to the phases of a woman’s cycle and breaks it down in easy to follow advice. Have already read it twice and bookmarked so many pages !!

Fast Like a Girl has been an absolute game-changer in my life, and I can’t help but share how profoundly it has positively impacted my health and well-being. This book has guided me on a journey of becoming healthier, losing weight, and gaining more energy, allowing me to rediscover myself in the most empowering way possible.
From the moment I delved into its pages, I felt an instant connection with the author’s approach to health and fitness. The emphasis on embracing the strength of being a woman and using it to achieve my health goals was truly inspiring. The book skillfully combines practical advice with a sustainable approach to intermittent fasting that I could easily incorporate into my busy lifestyle.
One of the most remarkable transformations has been the positive impact on my weight. I have shed those stubborn pounds that had been holding me back for years. The intermittent fasting routine, along with the wholesome nutrition advice from the book, has provided me with a consistent and steady stream of energy throughout the day.
Moreover, Fast Like a Girl has helped me reconnect with myself in a way that goes beyond physical changes. Through the book’s empowering messages, I rediscovered my inner strength and resilience as a woman. I feel more confident, both physically and mentally, and I embrace the person I’ve become with a newfound appreciation for my journey.
Fast Like a Girl has been a life-altering read for me. It’s not just a book about intermittent fasting; it’s a guide to embracing womanhood, improving health, and reclaiming our power. With its help, I’ve become healthier, lost weight, gained boundless energy, and most importantly, I feel like myself again, only better! I wholeheartedly recommend this book to any woman looking to embark on a transformative health journey and rediscover her strength within.

What a lightbulb moment to realise the nuances of how to fast properly backed by science.

I was recommended this book by a friend. I opened the first page and then literally could not put it down. I was absorbed by it. I started straight away and have been really surprised by my results already I’m only on day 12. I cannot recommend this book enough.

I enjoyed the content of the book and found it very useful but I wish I had bought it as a physical book.
Better to first listen to Dr Pelz on Diary of a CEO YouTube podcast for free. She lays out all the concepts in the book in an easy to absorb way.
The book contains recipes and diagrams which although included in a PDF pack with the audiobook, I think would be better to flick through.
A lot of the audio towards the end is reading food lists, again better to refer to in a physical book.
Another annoying thing about the audio was that the theme tune for the book randomly came on from time to time which was distracting. Maybe just my download, or a glitch in general.
Dr Pelz gets you enthusiastic about the fasting concept. A lot of what she says seems to have some science behind it. Where she mentions inflammatory oils; I was not able to find any evidence for this in human studies. There seems to be a bit of a bandwagon against certain oils on the internet but it is people repeating each other with no actual evidence I could find. So it was disappointing that she didn’t cover the science on this.
She takes a long time to get to how the program works if you have an intermittent perimenopausal cycle.
Overall good. I would recommend you watch Diary of a CEO first, then buy a hard copy.

I am very impressed so far: I have not finished reading yet (reading it quite slowly due to lack of time), but I have ready implemented Dr Pelz’s advice and lost over 3kg, which is a lot for me! I am feeling better, having more energy and mental clarity! So far so good and fasting is definitely a way forward for me!
