Fate of a Royal (Lord of Rathe Duet Book 1)
£4.70
#1 in New Adult Romance
“You will go to Rathe University, live among the giftless and those of light magic. You, Knight Deveraux, will learn to coexist.”
I’ve never heard more wasted words in my life. Then again, the gifted counsel never did have much to say that wasn’t. The only members amongst them who speak a thing worth listening to are my parents, the King and Queen of the Stygian’s, the people of Dark Magic.
Unfortunately for me and my brothers, they’ve chosen to play nice instead of sinking their talons into anyone who dares demand a thing from their heirs. In this instance at least.
Every gifted is forced to leave our realm behind after graduation to spend the next four years in a world that isn’t ours, while pretending it’s enough for those with something deeper clawing beneath their skin.
It isn’t. Not by a long shot, and while it’s as boring as I thought it would be, we find ways to entertain ourselves.
A little Fae Dust, the power of persuasion, and it’s a party worthy of a royal … or four.
That was fun the first year, but it’s my second now, and the minute I got back to campus, I knew it would be worse than before. I felt it, that pull buried beneath my skin, the whisper of a warning deep in my mind I could hear but couldn’t reach.
It starts with a human party and ends with a nightmare.
A five foot, white haired one.
With eyes like ice and a body begging to be bitten, she’s a problem.
A giftless one.
That’s right, she’s human.
Worthless.
And if the shadow circling my soul is telling me what I think it is … she belongs to it.
My new obsession … is my fated mate.
But there is no way the fates would give me, a Lord of Rathe, a heir to the throne of dark magic, a giftless girl.
I’ll prove they got it wrong.
That she’s not mine.
If I’m lucky, I’ll destroy her in the process.

Such an amazing book, interesting world, thought I’d figured out the twist but it was definitely not what I was expecting and I loved it!! ???????? (Although I’m heartbroken by the end ????????) First time Meagan’s written a PNR, but it was amazing. Absolutely love London and Knight, as well as Ben and Knight’s brothers, especially Sin! Eagerly anticipating and waiting book 2, can’t wait to pick up from that cliffhanger!!
I love all of Meagan’s books, but this is the first I’ve read by Amo, and I absolutely loved this, so will definitely read her other books now. 100% recommend this book!!! ????????????

Oh my goodness me! What a brilliant story. I love it all. The brothers, London, Ben, the mother and the father. This here is the best paranormal book I have read in years. Doesn’t surprise!e when it’s from Meghan and Amo. Their individual books are brilliant so this is a masterpiece. I can’t wait for the next book.

It was difficult to get into it, so many descriptions of places, things around them etc. It was really long-winded. I loved the ending and I want to know what happens next, but now when I think about the book in general, nothing really happened in this book up until the end. Just some parties, hot scenes and really that was it. It felt like an intro. Now I am hoping it was just a long-winded intro, so that I can be excited about the next book.

Was a little long winded, and repetitive at times, but that ending was well worth it, okay so let’s move onto book two….

It always amazes me how Amo’s books always keep me on the verge. They always keep me wondering what the hell is gonna happen and stupid me (i havent learnt this yet apparently) I’m constantly trying to figure out how the book will play out but forget it noone will ever able to get inside Amos head. I’ve read a few of Meagan’s books and I’ve got to say when I saw this book was coming out I was super existed to see how they would come together and it was nothing like I was expecting it was much more!
The book was thrilling. There was never a dull moment, and I couldn’t put it down. I was up at 3 am reading, knowing my daughter was going to wake up in 4 hrs to get ready for school and I still I kept going..
The ending left me hanging off the damn bed, and while it helped me understand the whys it left me with a yep, there is something bigger coming. Can’t wait for the next book!!

I love Meagan Brandy books, they’re so good. This one, there’s a great plot in here it’s just so wrapped up in such a complex design concept it takes a bit to unwrap. I love Ben and London, Knight and his brothers actually took me longer to feel anything redeeming about. However, the constant back and forth between these two London and knight, became a bit boring. I also found myself re-reading sections to make sure I had understood the story. I loved the last chapter and it was so unexpected that I mind of forgave all the things I wasn’t happy with in this book. I’ve not read the author Amo Jones before so this book has also introduced me to a new writter.
