A really enjoyable story, characters fully developed and described. Clues to a suspenseful, pending, event, leading to an exciting conclusion. Then a little peek into a happy ending.

AJ Sherwood’s usual high quality mm paranormal romance, but if you think the description sounds familiar, you’re right, this is the same story as in the Fated Mates Charity Anthology https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CGTTS1BM. It’s been extended by a couple of chapters, in which a plot arc involving other mates was briefly sketched out. If you’ve read the Fated Mates short, you can skip ahead to chapter 14 (out of 18 + epilogue) without missing anything. Novella length.
I’m giving it five stars, because that’s what I would give it if I hadn’t read the Fated Mates anthology.

I read this in one afternoon from star To finish and loved everything in it. The chemistry between the couple had me giggling in glee, the tense moments had me anxious and on the edge and I loved the happy ending. Everything in this book was enjoyable to read! Five stars! I would definitely read again.

I loved this when it came out in the Anthology AJ participated in and god love her she listened to her adoring fans, expanded it and released it as a book in its own right. Max is a terrified man whose dad is in severe condition in hospital, massive medical bills and does the one thing that scares him more than anything-put himself up for auction as a blood slave. Enter our fluffy retriever of a hero Zander! He does everything to make Max comfortable and to earn his trust in all the fluffiest of ways. I absolutely love this new universe of AJs and am so looking forward to the next book.
