What can I say, this does not add much to the game world or even take a look beyond what you play in the games. the artwork is small and doesn’t show concepts, mainly just shows screen captures from the game with a few character shots. Feel like it was a cash grab compared to some of the books you can buy for other games etc.

The book itself is high quality, pages are thick and glossy, feels really nice. The book cover has a nice image printed onto it. Unfortunately about 90% of the book’s is content directly extracted from the game. There is small print in the book which says “Please be aware that the screenshots and information here are from an in-development version…” My advice, if you want to admire artwork or get lost in the lore, play a slowrun of the game.
In all honesty the book feels more like a promotional product like “hey we’re releasing this game soon, read this book and see what you think”. I guess it is what it says on the cover, it’s literally a preview. There is a lot of empty space between images and the small text you get on each page, it’s almost like they had to fill a quota or something. It sums up the main characters, key locations and abilities, that’s pretty much it. There are 16 pages of a short story at the back of the book about Aerith as a kid, this is where you’ll get some of your value from the purchase. It’s about the only original thing in the book.
I would have given this a 2 star but the high quality of the book bumped up my rating.

Not as much information as I’d like but it is a good book about the remake! It’s the only information book I’ve found in English as the others are written Japanese. It’s a good book if your final fantasy 7 crazy like me and its good to add to the collection

Just stills from the game, no art work

Really disappointing! I was expecting more artwork not just screenshots from the game.
Furthermore there are even several pages of adv on merchandising.
Do not buy if you look for an artbook.

Bought this expecting an art book it is not an art book. It contains no information beyond that which any fan would already know. The book is just screenshots from the game. Very disappointing.
