Fire and Song (Warformed: Stormweaver Book 2)

The Iron Prince will claim his crown.
Reidon Ward’s first semester at the Galens Institute hasn’t been without reward. In just over half a year he’s gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there’s no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn’t the most terrifying CAD they’ve ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting.
After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived.
Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers. Squaring off with some of the best Users in the Astra System, they’re going to have to put everything they have—as individuals and as a team—into their coming fights if they want to ultimately end up standing at the top. As ever, though, their journey is hardly bound to be a smooth one.
Especially not when Rei and Aria begin to suspect that Shido may be even more formidable than it appears, much less as the powerful entities who’ve already taken notice of the ‘Iron Prince of Galens’ begin to make their moves, some casting their hands in his favor, others very much against…

I waited for this second book in the series to come out for over a year and burned through its over 1000 pages in two days whilst ignoring work, life, friends and sleep.
I kept checking to see how many pages were left in the book getting more and more anxiety from the fact that I was running out the more I read it, greedily wishing and hoping the book would get longer as I read so I could get more of the story before it ended.
What an end as well… Part of me wishes I had not found this series for a few more years, until it had more books, just so I could have read the next book without having to wait a couple of more years.

Excellent continuation of the series, more characters are fleshed out and many of the hints dropped in the first book were confirmed/expanded on. Even after two 1000 page books things are still being built up without feeling rushed or dragged out. Serious foreshadowing of things to come with just enough information to give the reader a taste of what’s to come.
That’s not to say that this book doesn’t deliver on its own. The Tournament is extremely well handled and Rei, Aria and Logan all get a lot of focus with Viv also getting a lot of attention. Catcher and Cashe do feel a little sidelined but not by much and they definitely have their moments. Action and CAD abilities shine through and the tertiary characters get some love too (go Lasher). Highly recommend if you liked the first one. Definitely enough to unpack that I wxpect I’ll be re-reading it in short order.

This book ended up being as incredible a sequel to Iron Prince as I’d hoped! Impossible to put down and despite my imagination coming up with ideas for a year prior to its release, still contained some wonderful surprises! Very well written and the characters all are very well developed and easy to enjoy or despise respectively!

come on when is the next book available, you can’t leave us all hanging like this. Why do I say this. Because the author has done it again, another amazing chapter of this enthralling story. The MC is now OP as you would expect, and will only get stronger. But the addition of the team members POV adds to the story, and will continue to do so. If you enjoyed Iron Prince, this book is just as good.

This is without doubt one of the best books I’ve read this year. And I read a lot. It has smart MCs, a universe in which the author left me wondering how it’s possible to add so much detail to an imaginary space. Brilliant. Read it now, you won’t be disappointed.

This was such an exciting book to read from start to finish, whilst still providing a couple of very interesting hints. I do look forward to what the MC’s sister is going to do if who I think her rage is going to be directed to is going to be correct. Whilst a certain Majors presence I felt was annoying in some ways the author did handle his removal well. Honestly looking forward to reading how this journey shall continue, the little hints the author gives at the start of majority of the chapters make me look forward to it even more.

This well crafted and well written book is as good as the first in the series. Great characters that integrate well in the main an sub plots. Enough complications to keep you guessing but not so much as to confuse and obfuscate. A truly great read

When I first started this journey with ward, it was just a curiosity but this journey prove to be a great one. Not only the mc is being develop but others are being fleshed out nicely. Each step of the progress have been meticulously plotted out and with hints from various characters headings of where it is going. This second book of warformed had me glued to it until I finished the book in the wee hours in the morning.
Just hope that I do not have to wait another 3years for the next one.
Great piece of story telling. Mr Bruce, I take my hat off to you!
