Fit For Purpose: The best book on opening and running your own gym. (Gym Business, Fitness Startup, Managing Gym, Opening Gym, Gym Classes,)
£7.30
I wrote this book to share my extensive experience in opening and running a successful gym.
We opened our first CrossFit gym in November 2014 in the City of London and it quickly became a wonderful success – so much so that we opened our second gym in December 2017. I hope to share this story with others, to inspire and guide them with practical insights on this business and the world of fitness. My prospective readers are other ambitious fitness professionals who are hungry to open their own dream gym. This book will save them from stress and confusion and will provide them with clarity, structure and a far deeper understanding of the fitness business. The book covers all aspects of planning a new gym and then looks at running that gym once it is opened. I want other people to benefit from my experience. I want them to be able to avoid unnecessary mistakes and have complete awareness of all essential parts of the gym business. By having a good structure and clear overall picture of what they need to focus on, they will be calmer, more confident in their actions and their efforts will be smarter and directed wisely. Because of this, I had to write this book! I’ll be very pleased to see other happy gym business owners who are doing well – hopefully at least partly, because of my book. I want to leave a legacy, I don’t want to take my experience with me and never share it.
My book is divided into two parts. “Before opening the doors” and “After opening the doors for the first time”.
The first part focusses on:
- What we had to go through to secure the premises
- How we raised the money and attracted investors for our dream project
- What was important in picking the right space
- What fitness concept to run so we positively impacted as many people as possible and simultaneously made the most of our premises
- How we branded and designed our small cozy gym
- What equipment we purchased
- What marketing strategies we executed in order to build our subscription membership
- And many other elements which were crucial in setting up the gym.
The second part of my book focusses on the actual running of the gym, after we opened the doors for the first time. Running a gym is very different from opening and setting up a gym. There are different skills needed for both parts of the business process. One person may be great at setting up the gym but a very poor manager who struggles to deal with all the day-to-day tasks and people management.
Both parts are challenging but for very different reasons. I describe:
- How important it is to find and pick the right coaches
- The importance of the role the coaches play in our business
- How important the manager is in keeping caring staff onboard
- What successful fitness programming should include
- The importance of communication within staff and with members
- The enormous impact of building a community
- Which essential booking and payment systems to have
- Which marketing channels we engaged with to really spread the word about our amazing gym, fitness concept and community
- And many other things which together complete an elegant and well-functioning business.
This book is a must for any ambitious people who dream about having their own gym, living life on their terms, taking charge and making a difference to many people along the way. Take action and download this book now
