I bought this initially because I wanted to be able to do some nice traybakes to hand in at school fayres etc.
I looked at a few others but I’m not into needing 15 ingredients for a flapjack so Fitwaffle (had never heard of her before now) with so many recipes at under 5 ingredients sounded great.
Guys, what a book. Got it (and her Baking it easy book too!) last weekend and couldn’t wait, so decided to do great bags as the party-bag for my daughters bday yesterday.
I made 8 recipes on Thursday night/Friday morning: biscoff fudge, mini egg fudge, Oreo fudge, digestive biscuit slice, biscoff flapjack, snickers crispy cake, peanut butter cookies, and chocolate bark.
They were all superb but the standout ones were the Oreo fudge (especially as I don’t even like Oreo’s that much) and the digestive biscuit slice (doesn’t look like much but the taste is incredible).
I don’t usually bother reading the front pages of recipe books cos they tend to say the same thing, but I’m glad I did because her tip of buying 2 identical 20cm tins that stack together is a game changer, because it makes lining your tins (needed for every bake and usually a pain in the a*** to do) a total dream. I am literally more likely to bake now that I know how easily I will be able to prep my tins.
Get this for the fudge recipes alone – I had never made fudge until Thursday night – it was embarrassingly easy, all of 8 minutes’ work, and folk were falling over themselves raving about it at the party!
Oh also I made the School cake separately and my husband ate the whole thing to himself over 2 days.
The concept of the book is so good, just one tin and you can do anything in this book – I actually bought 3 identical tins so I could do more than one bake at once. Also she tells you how to scale up if you have a 9×13 tin and want to double batch.
This woman needs to get organised to do a similar book for 8” round tins (cakes, cheesecakes, tarts), and loaf tins for loaf cakes and breads. I would pre-order those immediately lol.

My 13 year old loves it

I have had this book a little while now and have made most of the stuff from the no-bake section as we recently had a period of time without a working oven. Everything I made was delicious and well received and turned out looking like the pictures in the book. Baking instructions were clear and accurate and I appreciated that there is a picture of every item you make.
Would recommend, I’ve asked for the other book for christmas, I’ve enjoyed it that much.

Bought this for my son who loves to bake and has made a few things from Fitwaffles tiktok. The recipes are easy to follow and for most, you dont need loads of different ingredients. Its handy that they are all designed to fit the one size pan.
However, the recipes are all the same thing but with different fillings/toppings. For example the first “chapter” is brownies, there is two different brownie recipes at the start (a basic one and a fancier one) then 10 other brownie recipes just with different fillings or toppings…seemed a bit pointless to me, could of just stated on the first recipe the different things you could add.
All in all maybe a good buy for a child/teenager getting into baking but for someone whos been baking a while, they will recognise these are just recycled janes patisserie recipes with a few minor changes and different fillings.
