This is such a great book. I bought it for my 8 year old son and we both enjoyed reading it and sharing the facts. It was quite a turning point for him – a book that teaches you things but is still really fun and interesting!! My other sons read and enjoyed it too – they are 10 and 12. So I’d recommend it to any football-mad reader from about 7 upwards

It didn’t improve my reading or understanding of all things. I used some of editorial techniques in my paper on quantum chromodynamics binding energy, the journal’s editor was scathing. My 9 year loves it though it.

I was recommended this book by a football journalist friend. My 8yo son got it on the weekend and read at every spare moment he could, when not playing football.
He was very animated when talking about it and telling me all these facts from the book. He read it on the loo, in the bath, on the bus and while eating at the table. He finished it in 3 days and now his younger brother has started reading it.
I’ve now bought quite a few copies to give their friends as birthday presents. Good book and I’d recommend it to other football mad boys and girls.

My 7-year-old daughter got her hands on this book, and despite having little interest in football, cannot put it down! She loves the format and the funny facts. I’ve read bits of it over her shoulder and thought it was very cleverly written to deliver interesting info and subjects to kids in a way they enjoy and find amusing. Highly recommend.

Bought this for my 9 year old who has read ALL of the Football Heroes books and needed something else to entertain him. He LOVED this book and read it in two days (including going to school so not bad) because it was so good. I’ve now had to buy the rest of the books in the series! It’s well written, funny and appealing to kids. Would highly recommend!

I bought this book as a Christmas present for my grandson to encourage him to read more, and I think combining football and learning is an excellent incentive. The writers have a fine pedigree of communicating facts in an engaging fashion and so I feel sure that this book will be much enjoyed by my grandson.
