This is a brilliant addition to the Football School series of books. This joke book is thinner than the usual Football School books but is still a good decent size considering what you get and it’s filled with a lot humour, silly jokes a lot more illustrations! Each page has some jokes printed on it along with pictures that are in black white and grey.
As is obvious, this joke book is filled with football related jokes but what I like about it is just how original they feel. Many of the joke answers end up being a play on a footballer’s or club’s names or mention specific football related terms. I like how original the jokes feel compared to other joke books where sometimes you feel you might have read the jokes before, and I can see lots of children and even adults enjoying the silly humour of these, although not being a huge football fan myself meant that a lot of the jokes were just lost on me!
There’s usually about two jokes on each page along with lots of funny illustrations. The jokes are arranged into different sections and although I didn’t laugh aloud as much as I have with other joke books (although there were times where I did find a joke or two ridiculously funny as well as others being just daft!), it’s just because I didn’t know all the footballers, clubs, etc. names and I’m sure anyone who’s a fan will just love reading these! The illustrations are very funny and sometimes I found myself laughing at them alone. The illustrations are usually related to one or two of the jokes on each page but there are also some funny images before the start of each section which are worth looking at and which will make you laugh. I like how there are so many more illustrations than the average Football School book.
I can see any football fan enjoying this book, especially if they already enjoy the Football School series. Although the humour wasn’t always the best for me (we all find different styles of jokes and subjects funnier than others) I would still recommend this for those that do enjoy football, it’s definitely a good fun book to cheer up your day.

A paper backed book full of football jokes. My grandson who is eight and football made, he plays and goes to games and now is a football joke teller. He hasn’t put this book down since it arrived and has become quite the little comedian. The whole family has heard his jokes and today the book went to school with him for `Show and Tell`. I must admit the jokes are funny especially when told by a child. Comical sketch type drawings accompany the jokes throughout the book.
I was kindly sent this joke book by Walker publishing for reviewing.

As a non-football fan, any joke with a player’s name in it is going to pass me by. But that doesn’t stop me enjoying the cheesiness of a silly joke, or seeing the smiles that will be raised by young football/joke lovers.
“What’s a Spanish postman’s favourite team?
Parcel-ona”
See, I got that one. And groaned. If the above type of pun is up your street, then you’ll like the book.
In rough topic areas, there are puns, Knock Knock jokes, two-sided jokes, lots of references to the game’s rules, names and practices.
More than 200 jokes well-spaced-out alongside lots of comic illustrations.
Would make a good gift for the young football fan. Be prepared to hear the lot before Boxing Day.
With thanks to Walker Books for providing a sample reading copy.

Lovely little book grandson loved it

If your child has been reading the Football School books then they are going to love this football filled joke book from the same authors.
Within the pages there are over 200 jokes, split into seven sections and includes some fabulous black and white amusing artwork too.
Most of the jokes contains footballers names such as – ‘Who is a Farmer’s Favourite Pundit?’ – Alan Shearer. Some of the names were less know to me so the joke didn’t really work, but if your child is up on his/her football they will probably find them all hilarious.
This would make a great Christmas present or a stocking filler, just be prepared to be bombarded with jokes on Christmas Day. Better still buy it for a nice, nephew, godchild, etc and let them bombard their parents on Christmas day with the jokes!
*I received a free copy of this book, which I voluntarily review.

We LOVE the football school series (well my 7 year old does!) and since this book arrived he has been loving it! He has been telling joke after joke and showing me the sketches in the book and chuckling away to himself.
Great book and perfect stocking filler for footy mad kids this year.
