Learn how to reboot your metabolism, build strength, and extend your life with this accessible new book that demonstrates the importance of muscle for health and longevity from the founder of the Institute for Muscle-Centric Medicine®.
After years of watching patients cycle through her practice, Dr Gabrielle Lyon noticed a pattern. While her patients struggled with a wide range of conditions, they all suffered from the same core problem: they had too little muscle rather than too much fat.
When we think about muscle, we tend to think about strength or aesthetics, but in reality, muscle accounts for so much more than that. As the body’s largest endocrine organ, muscle actually determines everything about the trajectory of health and aging. Many of the conditions Dr Lyon’s patients were experiencing were actually symptoms of underdeveloped or unhealthy muscle.
Now, Dr Lyon offers an easy-to-follow food, fitness, and self-care program anchored in evidence and pioneering research that teaches you how to optimize muscle-no matter your age or health background. Discover how to overcome everything from obesity to autoimmune disorders and avoid diseases like Alzheimer’s, hypertension, and diabetes by following Dr Lyon’s powerful new approach to becoming forever strong.

The most important and well researched book I’ve read in a long time. Five plus stars ⭐️
by Mr. L Sr.
Great information about the importance of of strength training and protein, which made me enthusiastic to start strength excerises and eating properly.
Information about nutrition fairly good but diet plans and recipes hard to follow eg a breakfast recipe called for a few eggs and egg whites – using free range eggs as I do is not cost effective.
Exercise plans are also difficult to follow with unclear instructions.
I downloaded a free kindle book on strength training which includes clear instructions and videos for each exercise.

‘Forever Young’ is a most engaging and informative book. The opening section covers ‘The Stakes’, or, in other words, what could happen to us when getting older unless we take our health more seriously. Then, the author covers, what she calls, ‘…Road map to success’ exploring nutrition for older adults; and introduces one of the most significant features of the book, the relationship between protein intake and muscle development and promotion. This is a challenging section but highly informative and informed. The final section is titled, ‘Take Action’ and introduces nutrition for muscular health; baseline assessments for where to start; and a chapter on training that is quite comprehensive. This book is highly recommended for any adult who is determined to take their health and age most seriously. Highly recommended!

Not much new info, nothing that I hadn’t read elsewhere before. Menus and exercises poor, repeats itself throughout, in fact I stopped reading after a couple of chapters and gave it to someone else. Just my view others my have differing opinions.

I Got nothing from this book, I probably wasn’t the intended audience as I already lift weights. I imagine would be aimed at menopausal women. seemed like good material aimed there

This book is a total life changer! Finally we have all the evidence and science in one book to understand how in control we really are about how we age. The body building community have known much of this for a long time but now we have the chance to get this message out to everyone! We have so much agency and ability to up our protein intake, and resistance train. Anyone can do it. I’m so inspired and the info is clearly laid out so you can understand the why and how. Buy Thai book and take action! Love it!
