£3.90
What if everything they thought about you was a lie?
After Victoria’s best friend dies, everything around her ceases to exist.
The man she loved all her life didn’t want her anymore.
Her world crumbled.
Depression took her under.
All she has left is the will not to let others suffer under the Order’s rules, but she has to play the part under the hands of the dangerous and depraved to save them.
It’s the end of her senior year, and time has run out. Victoria has to marry under the Order’s rules by the time she graduates from Kenyan, and her father has chosen her husband––Her ex-boyfriend’s rival.
Alaric is the eldest of the sons of Kenyan, but he is darker. More sinister.
He doesn’t play by anyone’s rules––Except his own.
Alaric hates what Victoria’s become after his cousin’s death. He’s heard the rumors around campus after he graduated. How dirty and twisted she is.
When he discovers whom she is marrying, revenge has never tasted so sweet.
Alaric has plans for her––Plans she never saw coming.
But what if he was wrong for letting her go, and now it’s too late?
The deeper he goes, the darker she gets.
This is book 4 of the Prey Series, a standalone.

I haven’t read the other books but was still able to read this as a standalone
Veronica, what a strong girl she was. My heart hurt for her. The way she was used and abused in a cruel game.
Alariac was meant to love her and protect her. But he believed rumours, that’s the thing about rumours they were just that. Wish he didn’t take so long to realise his mistake because Veronica needed him so much.
This book was so emotional and gut wrenching. But what a fantastic dark romance. I was so engrossed.
That ending was perfect.

We finally get to see what the elusive Veronica is really like and why she has acted so contrary throughout this series.
This book is a must-read and it is in fact this is quite a complex story that tugs at your heartstrings! Once you see the real Veronica then all the pieces fit together and you are willing Alaric to see the real her!
This is a great book where Carmen, has again rung out all of the emotion possible. I got drawn in from the first few pages and couldn’t put the book down untilI had read every page.
This is an excellent book. 5 stars!

Carmen Rosales, what have you done to me! This was a book that sucked me from the prologue and putting me through on an emotional rollercoaster before kicking me off at the end. Forgive Me for I Have Sinned has left me with a book hangover, but it was more than worth it. I would never have believed I would do a complete one-eighty about Veronica, a character I hated since she was first introduced in this series…… OK so maybe she redeemed herself slightly in the previous books, but I never dreamed her backstory would be so heartbreaking and angsty. My heart hurt for her so much in this book. Her life was a living hell, but she still tried to help everyone she could and protect them. How she kept going I’ve no idea, she must’ve had steel at her core. Alaric was a complete alpha hole to her for most of this book blaming her for imagined slights when, out of everyone at Kenyan she was the most innocent, but ultimately, he was just as much a victim as she was. And when he realised he’d been played and hurt the one person he had come to love, well let’s just say every girl needs a psychotic antihero who will go to war for her, and I cheered as he took his revenge and wholehearted agreed with his methods. This wasn’t an easy book to read but the ending made it so deliciously dark and strangely sweet. Nothing says I love you like the brutal end of every man who ever abused you.

Veronica’s life has been hard and now she’s supposed to marry Dorian Black but she’d rather gouge her eyes out . Alaric has always been the one she loved but after what he did to her at initiation she ignores him until she can’t ignore him anymore.

It was a really unexpected journey for this one! The emotional angst was intense and really kept me hooked throughout, it was nice to see a different side to Victoria and understand her situation more and why she acted the way she did in previous stories and i didn’t think i would love Alaric, but hes turned out to be the most possessive, protective and darkest guy in the series…i loved these two together!! The plot was full of twists and turns with loads of emotion that kept me gripped…i cannot wait for more from this author!!

This is the 4th book in this incredible series, and my word, Victoria has endured so much in her life, and when her best friend dies, her work shatters, and she spiralled into depression. As Victoria is nearing the end of her final year, she must marry under the Orders rules, and her father must choose the man she must marry, and he chooses her ex-boyfriend’s rival. Alaric is dark sinister, and has a plan for Victoria, and when he finds out who she is to marry, revenge is sweet.
This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, and an intense emotional roller coaster, which is depraved, with revenge, loss, grief, heartbreak, secret societies, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, haunting, twisted, unpredictable, and steamy addictive page turner.
Be aware for the trigger warning due to the sensitive content!
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Veronica was the woman we all vowed to hate, but nothing is truly as it seems as we see the heart-breaking truth of what she has gone through and what lies ahead, she had loved Aleric, and for one brief moment she had it all, only for everything to turn upside down. will Aleric realise his mistake before its too late? A well written heart-breaking and mending emotion provoking read, with desires, dark themes, and more.

I honestly thought that Carmen couldn’t do any better with the Prey series but she shuts that thought down within the first chapter of this gem. I knew from the series to date that there is more than meets the eye with Veronica but did not expect to have such a complete change in my opinion of her. Poor girl chose the boy she loves giving her innocence to him only to be humiliated and used as a pawn in someone else’s game. Instead of breaking down at the judgment of others, she puts on a mask and saves her true self to be exposed when working at the diner surrounded by people who actually care about her. I wanted to shout at Alaric throughout the book for missing the obvious clues but the morally grey hottie had to come around in his own time. Without spoiling, the ending was absolute perfect justice although I do wish the book was longer just to get more of these two.
