Lovely gift for my parents for Christmas (though I doubt they’ll ever go out and buy the more obscure ingredients!). A4-ish size, hardback and very thick. It’s very colourful, has a nice ribbon book marker, and has some nice pictures inside. I enjoyed having a flick through imagining cooking some of the delights within!

I am an avid collector of cookbooks with a rapidly growing collection, but this book was both my first Fortnum & Mason and Tom Parker Bowles book.
It has arrived yesterday and I’ve just sat down with a coffee to have a first look at it. Even though I have not yet cooked from it, I am already in love! It looks absolutely gorgeous, is beautifully written and illustrated, printed on high-quality, heavy paper, has excellent binding and the recipes sound delicious, yet achievable for an advanced or ambitious home cook.
I would highly recommend buying it – especially at the current price it is an absolute bargain (£13 instead of regular price of £30).

It a great foodie book. Some recipes I would not try but there are enough recipes which i would. would make a great Christmas Present for anyone who loves to cook not only for Christmas.

I’m a massive fan of Fortnums and both recipe books bring traditional British cuisine to life. The recipes are easy to follow and very tasty, although some are a little more laborious than others but that’s the joy of cooking!

Full of lovely Christmas cooking ideas, exactly as described. Would have been 5 stars if the outer cover had been delivered in better condition – quite a few smudges on it that wont seem to come out, and a few dents!

I love the art of Edward Bawden, but you’ll find very little of it, in this book.
Let’s be honest, it’s simply a Christmas themed cookbook. A few of Bawden’s illustrations creep into the pages, but it’s nothing I haven’t seen before. It’s mostly colour photos and recipes.
I felt deceived.

This is a glorious volume. However I should really have returned it as the back corners of the book were damaged. Which is a shame as I had intended it to be a gift. I got it at a good price so kept it for myself. However after more purchases during Covid I now know how easy it is to return items to Amazon (on the whole) so lesson learned. It is a beautiful book with stunning illustrations and photography.

I’ve loved Tom Parker Bowles’ books since I read Let’s Eat. I followed his mum’s recipe for roast chicken and it’s the best ever. Every chicken I’ve roasted since I’ve cooked this way and they’ve all tasted really special. I didn’t buy it because of the royal family connection, far from it. Read any book on cooking written by Tom Parker Bowles and you’ll warm to his friendly style. The Fortum & Mason Christmas book is interlaced with anecdotes and tips from expert chefs who sound a nice lot, too.
