Learning French is hard and what I appreciate about books like this it helps to understand everyday situations and also tests your understanding of the story that you have read. I read the book through twice and wrote down my answers to all the questions. I would recommend this book to anyone from beginner to intermediate. Dylane is a great teacher and understands what French students need. Thank you.

I was very disappointed with this book. Firstly he text size is very small making it very difficult to read. Secondly the page layout would have been better if the french story and the corresponding English translation would have been laid out over two parallel pages so you could easily read the French story and view the English translation. Thirdly this book is not suitable for complete beginners it is suitable for advanced beginners or low intermediate learners as it states at the back of the book

Very engaging stories with English translations for easy reference and key phrases highlighted and translated. I would thoroughly recommend.

Over many years I have tried to speak French. I even lived in France for two years without much success. But this an incredible way to learn without one to one tutoring.

I really like the way the author has written this book. The short stories in French followed by the translations and then the quiz to test your understanding in both languages. I really enjoy reading this book and have read some stories multiple times. Brilliant. Just bought book 2!

The translations of the stories are written how you would speak in good English but actually the corresponding French words are a bit different so I ended up using a separate dictionary to translate the words I didn’t know well. Sometimes parts of translated sentences have been swapped compared to the French which can be a bit confusing. ‘J’avais un peu faim quand je suis arrive au comptoir’ is translated to ‘When I got to the counter, I was a little hungry’. Whereas, I think it would be better for beginners to translate it as ‘I was a little hungry when I arrived to the counter’.

The bonus however is that there’s the matching audio to listen to the pronunciation, it’s done at a slow-ish pace so it’s easier to read at the same time.

Was looking for easy short french stories. These are written in French with a translation under on same page. Some questions included as well as glossary of vocab.
Think it’s quite pricey for what it is, but there aren’t too many alternatives. I can recommend for people wanting to study french and practice comprehension.

downloaded this book for my kindle as someone is learning French, and i think it’s amazing! i’d recommend the kindle edition as it makes it really easy to quickly translate any specific phrases that you don’t understand without turning the page and trying to find them in the English translation (which is also super useful). with the comprehension questions and the included audio versions of the stories, this is just the perfect resource and I will be using it a lot!
