Featuring contributions from internationally recognised experts in the field, this valuable textbook helps students and staff across healthcare disciplines understand the essential concepts of person-centred practice in various health-related contexts. Using the Person-centred Practice Framework―an innovative theoretical model based on more than two decades of research and practice―students develop a strong understanding of the different components of person-centredness, their connections and interactions, and how they can be implemented to promote positive healthcare experiences for care providers, service-users, and families.
Recognising the dynamic and complex nature of person-centredness, the text emphasises the importance of a common language and a shared understanding of person-centred practice in all areas of healthcare, from hospital and social care systems, to mental health, learning disability, and rehabilitation services. This practical and insightful introduction to the subject:

- Features cases and examples of person-centred practice in curricula worldwide
- Includes activities designed to support person-centred practitioner development

Not happy that a new book should arrive in this condition
by Sarah Russell
This is an extremely good book. It had me at ‘Dear reader’ and perhaps that illustrates the ethos and values of the authors and the chapters.
I read it in one evening…why and how?
The chapters can be read as stand alone ones or in sequence. Chapters include a contents page, learning outcomes and activities and are all in manageable chunks (about 5 pages each). The layout and design is appealing and easy on the eye.
Whilst it is extremely well referenced, it is written in a very accessible manner.
I liked how the chapters were organised into four sections, which made it very easy to navigate and to dip into specific chapters.
I think this is an extremely useful book whether you are a practitioner, facilitator, researcher or policy maker. I highly recommend it

This is a brilliant book with a good level of information to learn or improve healthcare knowledge. There are many aspects I will take away and apply to my nursing practice.

Bought for my nursing degree. Text is very insightful and I have referred to it continuously throughout the course. I particularly enjoyed the chapter on the care environment as it is not an area I have thought about in detail before.
Arrived in perfect condition. Very happy with my purchase.
