Once again a fantastic resource which has made me so much clearer in my own head as a practitioner of what I need to be covering. The clear structure and the continuous strand of exam techniques makes this an invaluable book to own. Students of all abilities have found the book useful and informative and I would say that as a result my students are clear on what is expected of them in the examination. I am so grateful for your hard work which has made my life much easier 🙂

By far the best book out there to teach the Edexcel specification. It is clear and concise and very accessible to the students. I tried another book by Victor Watton first and I was tearing hairs. It was not in any way child friendly and even I as a teacher found the lay out and content very inaccessible. The thought of having to use it for the next two years nearly had me crying! I then discovered these gems by Waqar Ahmedi and I was so impressed. The tasks at the end of each topic are perfect and the pupils love all the discussion questions and often feedback to me that RS makes them think so much- this is partly due to the way these questions are worded. The exam style questions again are brilliant. I can’t say enough good about this book.

This book is carefully researched, written without bias or judgement and is a vital asset to any student or teacher involved in the new Edexcel GCSE RE course. The layout is clear, with a variety of resources which Waqar Ahmedi makes use of in a stimulating way. As with the other books in the series there is an excellent balance of ancient text and modern religious authorities.

The subject is sometimes difficult for teachers to discuss in class, but the various links to websites, suggested activities and lesson details will help your pupils – and you – approach this part of the course with sensitivity and with challenge. The author does not shy away from themes which will lend themselves to debate but throughout the textbook there is a sense of dignity and respect for the various viewpoints which will arise.

Mr Ahmedi’s own classroom practice clearly has lent itself to providing This book is carefully researched, written without bias or judgement and is a vital asset to any student or teacher involved in the new Edexcel GCSE RE course. The layout is clear, with a variety of resources which Waqar Ahmedi makes use of in a stimulating way. As with the other books in the series there is an excellent balance of ancient text and modern religious authorities.

The author clearly and concisely lays a path for any student to build on their subject knowledge. Teachers – whether proficient in the delivery of RE lessons about Islam or just starting out alike – will need to make use of this valuable addition to their bookshelf. Even if you are not providing this course – or using this particular board you will still benefit from purchasing this. The information which you can access will be of great use. Pupils will find the textbook full of relevant, thoughtfully chosen materials. Illustrations, links to websites, discussion starters, exam exemplars all help to focus the teacher, the class, the individual pupil.

I think that the only thing that would improve this would be the addition of a few more exemplar exam questions – however, this is a new course, first exams in 2018 and there are other sample materials available from the Exam Board. Therefore I am pleased to give the book a 5* review. Do also look at the other books Mr Ahmedi has written.

A really clear book, which follows the Edexcel specification perfectly, right down to the spec pages at the start of each chapter that you can use to check the students have covered everything needed. The exam questions are really helpful and give frequent technique practice. The detail is in depth and the more academic students will have all they need to reach the 9 grade without having to look for extras. A great book for teachers too, especially in departments where RE is taught by non specialists. Great stuff ????
