Ghosted: An unmissable and haunting murder mystery
£1.99
Adam Albury finds himself at a funeral in his local church. Scanning the aisles and seeing his family and friends dressed in black, he’s shocked to learn the service is for him. Adam, now no more than a hovering spirit, is even more astonished to learn that his death was ruled as suicide.
However, Adam is quite certain he wouldn’t have harmed himself. And as he watches those close to him chuck handfuls of earth on his coffin, he soon realises he’s been murdered. But who is responsible? And why?
He may be a ghost, but he’s no angel. As Adam follows those still living, can he uncover the truth about his death?

I liked the concept of this book; a ghost trying to solve his murder and the story did not disappoint. It hooked me from the start and kept me guessing until the end. I’d definitely recommend this to Mark McCrum and whodunnit fans.

This is the story of Adam who becomes aware that he is a ghost watching his own funeral. As he listens in it becomes apparent that everyone thinks he committed suicide, and he can’t remember how he died.
He follows various members of his family over the next few weeks listening to their private conversations to see if he can work out what really happened.
Then he discovers that he can actually contact some of them.
The story becomes clear, he was in fact murdered, but who did him in and why?
Quite a good twist, but I think if I’d been contacted by a dead loved one I would have reacted a lot stronger than any of them did!!!

I couldn’t decide whether to give this a 3 or 4 star, went with a 4 in the end — the idea of the storyline grabbed me a lot! I love the thought of a ghost doing a bit of detective work trying to work out who killed him. Makes a change from the usual crime stories.
The story started off well for me. I was hooked. The way the author describes the ghostly presence and the things he can & cannot do I thought were great.
The main character, Adam awakens on the day of his funeral as a ghost. He cannot remember his death but he soon learns that everyone thinks he committed suicide — this is something he knows he wouldn’t do, would he?
Over several weeks he watches his family, listening to their conversations carefully, waiting for his murderer to confess. There’s plenty of suspects! With a wealthy grandmother leaving you a good deal of course people are going to see pound signs! Adam is worth more dead than alive!
One day, Adam accidentally discovers that he can contact his family, sometimes. By talking to his family it is evident he has been murdered, but he cannot work out by who.
At first I felt for Adam but as I learned about who he was I started to dislike him, and his family! The only characters that I had any type of connection for was his kids.
I felt cheated with the reveal too. How his murderer is revealed … can’t say too much, don’t want to spoil it! The story had me believing someone else was going to reveal it — yes it’s a good reveal, I definitely did not see it happening that way.
Overall, a good read. If you like paranormal crime books this will keep you entertained. I will be looking out for more by him.

What a great read, a well written storyline with a great bunch of characters, some to like and some to loathe. A cosy crime who done it with a bit of twist. We start with a funeral and meet Adam our leading man, he trying to figure out whose funeral he is at and then it dawns on him, it’s his.

I loved the idea of the storyline and this this deserves 4.5 stars.
We first meet Adam, the main character, at a funeral – he then realises this is his own funeral and that everyone believes he committed suicide. He cannot remember how he died but knows this is something we wouldn’t do.
He follows various members of his family over the next few weeks listening to their private conversations to see if he can work out what really happened. He is able to speak to some of the other characters but not others, but he has no idea why.
I loved all the characters and the way they were presented as we meet them at the funeral and then revisit each as we learn about the relationships they had with Adam.
This is a humorously written book, and the way the author describes the ghostly presence and the things he can and cannot do really added to the story.
An enjoyable mystery with a few twists. If you liked McCrum’s Francis Meadows novels, you will love this.
I would like to thank Bloodhound books for the ARC.

Adam finds himself at a funeral – and realises that it his. Furthermore it seems he has killed himself. Having no memory of his death, but convinced that he would not have committed suicide, Adam decided to investigate. Which of the people gathered to remember him hated him enough to kill him? An unusual idea which works really well.
