We have tried 5 recipes from this book so far. Of the 5, 4 were absolute winners and we’ll have them again and again. The other one (cauliflower fritters) was actually OK, just a bit bland for our tastes and we probably won’t have it again, but we still happily ate it! 4 winners out of 5 is excellent, I can’t wait to try more of the recipes out. The recipes are pretty quick to make and not overly complicated. A beginner could probably manage OK with many of them. Yellow pepper fusilli is our favourite so far. Really pleased I bought this book.

Brilliant. So much to choose from. Another great edition to my recipe books.

Great recipes with realistic ingredients, not stuff that you can’t buy anywhere. I’ve made some delicious meals and salads.

This is the first time I’ve read a Gino book, as I’m a vegetarian, and usually have to spend a lot of time adapting recipes from non-veg-only books, so to learn that Gino had released a fully vegetarian book, it was a great surprise and I quickly bought it.
Arrived the next day in perfect condition, and I got stuck into it. There’s lots of Italian staples, from risotto, to lasagne and gnocchi, and everything I’ve cooked from the book has been brilliant. Some ingredients can be a bit hard to find at times (mainly the Italian cheeses), but it usually recommends more commonplace alternatives.
Overall, this is a great book for people who want to make some delicious Italian dishes – a warning though, a lot of them are high on the calorific side, so maybe not a great book if you’re on a diet!

Great book, I have spent some time trying out the recipes in this book in an attempt to better my own health and dabbling into the world of vegetarianism. I wanted a book that had no-complicated recipes and didn’t require me to go out and purchase a lot of additional store cupboard essentials or be too calorie heavy. I was recommended this book by a vegetarian friend and can’t fault it. This book is really easy to use and the recipes are set out logically. There are also a lot of recipes for families and can easily be adapted for larger or smaller quantities. I have also added meat to the portions for the meat eaters in the family but keeping mine veggie.
The colour pictures and the way it is written makes it great to dip in and out of.
Great purchase for new or long term vegetarians.

I’m not vegetarian, but I enjoy cooking and I’m happy to serve vegetables as the main course if the recipe is tasty and substantial. I like the way Gino talks about food; he’s enthusiastic and knowledgeable and not obsessed with calorie counting, low fat or fast, fast, fast. Food should be prepared with good ingredients, time and love. These recipes incorporate those principles and I’m pleased I picked this up on offer at 99p. It works well as an ebook and I browse on iPad where it’s colourful and easy say to navigate.
It’s packed with recipes for almost any taste. Starters, mains and even desserts. Some great ideas and a welcome addition to my collection.

I’m a vegetarian- and my favourite food is Italian so I guess this is the recipe book for me. I’ve just gone through and put notes on all the recipes that appeal. At around 80% I’d say that’s a pretty good start. Bless Gino for trying to encourage us to cook our own fresh pasta! I won’t be doing that. The rest looks delicious and doable. Not too fancy. Very inspiring.
