I was hoping that the book would have an appendix that gave e.g. the 5 simple clauses we use in contracts but I struggled to find a single example of where it gave more than is available for free either as emails or on the website. Disappointing.

i have read a few M&A books but none get to the point in an easy to understand way. The methods explained in this book are used in exactly the same way to buy mega businesses and SM&E companies. Most of the methods are also international rather than focused on one geography or one method.

Unfortunately, this is a book which focuses on being a funnel for the Harbour Club, that is fine and their prerogative, but so little of this book is markedly different from what you can read on the HC website. No doubt at all that Jeremy knows his stuff, but very little of it is in this book. I wanted more but got not much more than a compilation of blog posts and re-told stories from videos I had already seen on the HC site. Perhaps the only way to access this expertise is to pay the HC course fee, one thing is for sure, the book won’t get you further than what you can watch on YouTube.

An amazing book that’s delivered in an easy to read yet powerful and practical format. Thank you Jeremy for adding even more value to my M&A journey. A must read for all who aspire to or already buy and sell businesses.

The book provide you with a more comprehensive approach in doing dealing making it more practical than theoretical. Which means you can read the book and eventually go out and do these deals. The layout clear and the simplicity of the information provide a great deal of knowledge to those who might have little or no understanding on deal making to start. This is important and crucial to be able to do deal appropriately.
Love every piece of written words in this book.
Blessed with all Blessings.
Thank Jeremy for this fantastic book

If I had never signed up to the Harbour Club mailing list, or read any blogs on their website, I would be giving this book 5 stars. There isn’t much more value in this book than there is in those blog posts, and the book is heavily geared toward promoting the harbour club course – but there is no denying that this is a great book, and Jeremys approach to buying businesses with no cash upfront is fantastic.
If you haven’t already read the blogs, and mailing list, then I highly recommend this book.

I was looking forward to reading a book on buying business from what seemed like a British entrepreneur.
It starts off mentioning the course and that the author advising he makes his money from buying businesses, not the course, however the course is pitched or mentioned multiple times per chapter and was a bit frustrating to see that.
However, it became clear that throughout this is just a long sales pitch to join his course which I won’t name – read the book if you want to know about his course.
If you are brand new to business and interested in M&A then I think this is a good book to give you a broad overview. If you’re looking for something in more detail with practical steps then this probably isn’t the book for you.
I personally found it useful and had a couple of good takeaways from the book. Food for thought but overall if I am honest I was a bit disappointed that the author hadn’t been more generous and in my opinion the book doesn’t deliver on what the description promises it will.
With all that said, I still think it’s worth a read. Just be prepared for the fact that it will mention an external course quite a lot. If you can look past that then you’ll probably get a few golden nuggets from this book.
