Good for the money and gives one lots of tips.

I’ve made three of the recipes so far and they have all been delicious – the chicken and chorizo ragu, the sweet potato and coconut curry, and the next level chilli. Batch cooked freezer meals can sometimes be a bit uninspiring but I am pleased with the recipes in this book. I’ll definitely be coming back to it again and again. My only gripe is that there are perhaps too many soup recipes which I know I’m never going to make!

I had high hopes for this book, between the reviews and the kindle sample. But it was actually quite a disappointment.

I liked the fact every recipe has a full page photo to tempt you. So one page is instructions and one page is photo. It’s also on a nice heavy-weight matt paper. so no glare or reflection to deal with when trying to read/refer to it.

Sadly that’s about as good as it gets. There are apparently 150 recipes in the book (I haven’t counted) but many of them are very similar. There are a lot of burgers and things like fish cakes. Many of which could really have been added together and listed as variations, rather than trying to pass it off as a separate recipe.

This also means that many of the recipes aren’t actually complete meals, they are just one part of it, so there is still going to be additional prep or cooking when you come to use it. There are some complete meals, such as pasta dishes and stews, but they are in large quantities with no suggestions for adjusting cooking times/temperatures to allow for freezing them in smaller batches.

This brings me to the main issue with the Freezer based cook book. The freezing and heating instructions are all added almost as an after thought and limited detail on many recipes. One recommends placing into a hot oven until heated. No indication of time or what it classes as a “hot oven”

The layout is rather poor. The instructions are printed in a scratchy looking font, in a grey looking shade all squashed together with no spacing, making it less than ideal to read. Instead of filling the free space with detailed instructions about freezing and giving options for differing quantities etc, it’s just a load of blank space until the bottom of the page and the nutritional details.

Not worth the money as a time-saving freezer cookbook.

The initial flick through of the book made me so pleased that I had purchased it. I noticed an interesting array of recipes as well as a variety of vegan recipes which will be great for allergy suffering friends and family.
There is a picture for each recipe (this should be mandatory for a cook book!) along with cook time, prep time, serving size and nutritional information.
I have bookmarked multiple pages and can’t wait to start filling my freezer with these delicious looking recipes.

Great recipes but the index is wrong on a few page numbers. But other than that, spot on!

Page after page of delicious receipes that don’t have 9366 ingredients and very easy to make. Worth the money.
