If you are looking for recipes that involve ‘buy the stuff, throw it in the slow cooker, leave it for a long time and then come back to a tasty meal’… This may not be the book for you.

Every recipe that I have scrutinised (so far) involves a certain amount of faffing about first. Most of which involves browning, softening, mixing and/or boiling (with the occasional fully hands on skin loosening and stuffing).

These are not reasons not to get this book. The recipes in it make my mouth water. If you have the time to spare to do the prep before wacking it all in the slow cooker. This food looks dead tastey. But I am new to slow cooking… and lazy. So I’m still working my way through the Good Food Slow Cooking Favourites.

I have been cooking for a long time now, but this book adds some new ideas to my skills. I did find it difficult to get to the page I needed,

I love this book, the recipys are simple ingredients easy to find. I saw one review where they said it didn’t give the slow cooker temperatures, on the page they copied it even said the hours hours on low so I can rubbish that.
So sum up if you want tasty, cost effective simple family dinners you don’t have to look much further.

It’s a book with recipes some I will try some I won’t. Looks ok on the book shelf and the pages are easy enough to read and turn

This is a good book. Well illustrated and containing a wide range of recipes several of which I have already tried with excellent results.

Just bought electric slow cooker. Initially bought smaller bbc book called slow cooker favourites for my mum and another for myself this week. Mine was ruined in transit so returned but did have a look at it. The book is hand size and the print small. I did like some of the recipes but I bought this book as an alternative. This one is much bigger, as is the print inside. A lot of the recipes I saw in the smaller book are in this one too. I think this book is great for giving you ideas whilst you get to know your machine. I like cooking and will make up my own recipes using these for ideas. Pay a bit more for this one, forget the smaller books and use the net to find more recipes. BBC are very naughty for constantly reusing recipes in their books.
