I know many people don’t like Gordon yet he knows his profession well. Unlike many other chefs, he does not advertise products that no real chef would tolerate in their kitchens. All the meals are clearly explained, that if you follow as per the instructions, you cannot really fail unless you cannot read. Gordon take out all the fancy frills and pompousness and tells it as it is.

My carer cooks for me but meat and two veg a bit boring!! So voila! Am writing out cards for basic “how to ” for him, A to Z or 1 to ??? I know he will love them too.

Must be good that I tried a recipe the same day I received it. It was sctummy and I have adapted the omelette recipe – very good and easy. Like the casual accessibility of this book. Don’t love GorfonRamsay but think I am warming to him.

The only reason for 4 stars is that there are no pictures, and the recipes are not on separate pages.

Very glad with my book! It was shipped from a library , but I’m so glad ! In those tough times I can hold on to my favourite chef Gordon Ramsey and collect all his books.

I’ve not bought a Gordon Ramsey book in a while – I went off him because there were quite a few hard-to-find ingredients creeping into the recipes. This book feels like he’s stripped all that away and really gone back to fundamental meals with simple ingredients. However, he might have gone a little too far as some of the recipes are a little simplistic! I don’t need a recipe for avocado and poached egg on toast…. I mean, the clues in the name really.

Bought as a present for my wife for Mother’s Day from the kids, who are slowly learning to cook with Mummy. The book went down a storm, and strikes a great balance between having some complicated recipes as well as a few smaller items such as side dishes, starters, puddings etc. They have already tried several of them to great effect. My wife says that this is now her favourite Gordon book and among her favourite recipe books. Highly recommended. It also has various vegetarian choices which is not always a given with Gordon but helpful in our house…
