I have read mixed reviews on this book but I always believe it’s down to personal opinion so I decided to give it a go. Im more of a baker and enjoy baking cakes and sweet treats but the family cant live of them so i try normal food every now and then. The book itself is visually appealing with its sleek cover and overall quality. Ive always been a fan of gordon ramsay and had high hopes for this particular cook book.

The main problem i found with this book is that it had a poor layout with muddled recipes, it flicks between quick recipes and then desserts with no particular order. I compare these recipes to more fine dining then everyday meals or takeaways. This also features a lot of fish and to be honest I’m not a fish fan but for people who do then great! i consider myself to be a basic cook although i will give anything a go from cook books but i found this complicated. There are certain ingredients such as smoked trout and quails eggs that i wouldnt normally eat or keep in. I think some people would find this amazing and totally get it but it wasn’t for me I’m afraid. I think I will just stick to watching him on t.v instead

The recipes show the man’s genius: what I have been trying to do at home returning from a very tiresome day, he guides it with recipes from all over the world and unparalleled experience. I thought it was not easy to impress a man in Crete, like me, where taste is a god given local characteristic of anything edible, but his recipe with grilled aubergines and tahini & yogurt dressing, showed me how talented, experienced and travelled the man is. For this reason I added his book to the shelf of cookbooks already at home.

If anything, a more careful choice of font colour would make the recipes easier to read for those of us who are past our youth

This is an old book and many of the recipes have been published on newer book so not sure if its really advised to buy a copy, any way for a penny was worth having another book to browse…excellent fast easy recipes…can’t ask for more.

I love the F word, its my favourite Gordon ramsay show to date.

however I was very unpleased to see that most of my favourite recipes that he used on the F word were not in it…
the dishes that are slightly more difficult were left out, and the basic “one page” dishes were put in.

I still recommend this book to most, just dont buy it if you expect every single F word recipe to be in it.

It does what it is set out for. Giving you easy fast recipes. I don’t give it 5 stars because it is a very big book and it’s hard to handle as it doesn’t stay open on the page you’re using, so it’s hard to cook with it. You gotta study it well before you cook.

Tried a few of the recipes and they have been brilliant, a great guide, it is very clear with the ingredients and instructions, and provides helpful pictures. It’s geared more towards those with previous cooking experience but is a very good book.
