Gordon Ramsay’s Sunday Lunch: And Other Recipes from the “F Word”

£3.20

Gordon Ramsay’s aim is to get us all cooking up a storm and sitting down at the table with friends and family to share lunch on Sundays and at other leisure times. In the second series of “The F Word”, his highly acclaimed topical food programme, he visits people all over the UK of all ages, backgrounds and ethnic origins to help them cook up a meal for family and/or friends. These range from traditional Sunday roasts to lighter summer fare, from easy 30-minute meals to Italian, Indian and Moroccan influenced family feasts. As always, Gordon is there to help the home cook at every stage – buying the right ingredients, preparation and serving and helping to co-ordinate the cooking of several dishes to arrive on the table simultaneously. This TV tie-in book takes all the dishes served on the programmes and arranges them into 25 menus, each featuring a starter, main course and a pudding, plus an invaluable timetable and all sorts of helpful culinary hints, such as carving and what to do when things go wrong. For those who want to pick and choose, there are alternative recipe and menu suggestions plus invaluable expert advice and techniques from Britain’s top chef, making this a must-have purchase for all Gordon Ramsay fans.

This was a great choice for a present for daughters boyfriend – a lad who enjoys his cooking and needed the right encouragement to advance his skills. what can be better than a bloke cooking his own Sunday dinner. He thought the book had a good range of recipes to try.

Fantastic!!! It arrived so fast at such a fair price….the book shops of the uk are going to dislike such your great deals! I knew it was a used one when I ordered it so when it came with a tiny scratch on the cover I was not suprised or disappointed….but it’s tiny and the book looks like new! Also I can say I’ve had it for ages and not feel guilty spending my money on treats for myself!!!

Another Gordon Ramsay book? Seems scarcely a fortnight since the last one. Still, give Mr Grumpy his due, this one is great value for money. There are at least 150 recipes here, and they’re stylish, unpretentious and clearly explained. The only mystery is why there’s so much tub-thumping about Sunday lunch. (“I am determined to revive Sunday lunch… join me and help to make my Sunday lunch campaign work” etc.) My guess is that ever since Jamie Oliver’s school dinners `crusade’, celeb chefs have felt the need to be seen standing up for Family Values. But I can’t help worrying that Gordy is taking the sermonising a bit too seriously, regularly breaking off from his menus to bellow admonishments at the reader. “Switch the television off at mealtimes,” he thunders; “try and enjoy cooking… keep going until the fear is gone!” Jeepers, what next? Sackcloth-clad Reverend Gordon prowling the streets, crucifix in one hand and meat cleaver in the other, visiting divine vengeance on heretics and Sabbath-breakers?

This is such a great cookery book – great Sunday lunch recipes, delicious veg recipes and gorgeous desserts.

All recipes are easy to follow and the ingredients are mostly store cupboard plus a few more “exotic” !
Love this book so pleased with it Thank you to G R :))))

I brought this book, as like many others, I wanted to try something different in cooking. Having already tried out Rhodes….I presumed Ramsay would be just as good. He does have a French Flair for Food, but I found this book average on the recipe front…dishes like Malaysian curry dish, creamed cabbage and celeriac with pancetta, venison in red wine and chocolate sauce! He does have some good basic realistic dishes in the book, but not enough! The book just babbles on and on about trying to get people to sit around the table and eat Sunday Roasties..hm!One thing I did find rather irritating, is that my book came with a CD of him cooking the foods he mentioned…..hate to admit it Gordon, but some of us can actually read and cook at the same time, without watching TV….only gets 3 stars…..sorry..
