The book is looking good, although it wasn’t new.

If you like fruit (tamarind, mango, pineapple, coconut, pear, orange, lime) in savoury dishes, and enjoy citrussy flavours in general, this is the cookbook for you.
Would have liked to see an introduction to the key ingredients because quality really matters. Supermarket own brand, Blue Dragon and Amoy sauces lack in authenticity and flavour.
I rate Kikkoman Less Salt soy sauce, Lee Kum Kee Premium oyster sauce and Red Boat Vietnamese fish sauce. Lemongrass paste, tamarind paste and fresh/ frozen lime leaves (don’t use dried) can be found in a good Chinese grocers or the pricier supermarkets.
Daikon radish is sold as ‘mooli’ in the UK, do use shallots rather than subbing in regular onions, but ginger can substitute for galangal.
Some supermarkets offer frozen pineapple and mango which is much better than canned.
I will update as I cook up a storm!
