The dept of knowledge whilst only reading some of the book so far is superb.
Another fine piece from MJ.
Look forward to reading more and expanding my knowledge whilst reading.

Another outstanding novel by M.J. Gallagher, whilst having only read a small section so far I am already pulled in and hanging on to every word! The attention to detail and magnitude of research has been beautifully executed into this novel. Whilst I am likely to enjoy due to my love of Final Fantasy & Mythology I have to commend M.Js ability to put such wisdom and insight from pen to paper. I look forward to finishing this book (& most likely rereading Norse Myths that inspired Final Fantasy VII) I also highly anticipate what is next to come from M.J.

This book does not deserve five stars.
No, not due to disappointment or anything like that. Far from it. Gallagher shows from the first page to the very last that this is a passion project. There’s an incredible amount of research done into the mythos of the Hellenistic world, which any historian will tell is in itself an amazing mishmash of half-written down stories which themselves have orally been passed down for centuries before that has given many headaches when trying to assemble them into one coherent narrative.
To take that in combination with the rich lore of Final Fantasy VII and pointing out where inspiration may originate from and what the references mean is a beautiful marriage between two worlds. While the Final Fantasy franchise might not have started with a deep understanding of myths this is a wonderful guide as to how knowledge within the team as well as outside it has grown.
This book deserves ten stars.

I haven’t completed this book yet but I would already recommend it to anyone, old and new Final Fantasy Fans alike. I have to say so far I’m just as amazed as I was with M.J.Gallagher’s previous book on the Norse mythology side of FFVII. The level of knowledge and research that has gone into this really shows in the writing, the detail and art. I’m an avid Final Fantasy and Mythology Fan so I know quite a few links throughout but even I am still being shown different ties that I just didn’t put together before and that’s all thanks to M.J.Gallagher. He’s a wonderful author with a deep passion for FF and Mythology, he really delivers on anything he writes and I recommend his work entirely.

A good chunky book.
Wonderfully written and engrossing. I’ve read a few mythology books before and usually struggle to keep my attention, but not this one. Gives great insight about things I’d never even thought about or noticed. And the artwork is just amazingly beautiful. Blown away
