I LOVE the simplicity and practicality of this book. It doesn’t just preach at you but gives you real tools to use in your teams and with yourself! The book inspires better leadership beyond management by numbers. It reads like you’re having a 121 mentoring session with the author Leigh Ashton.

In this book Leigh Ashton takes us on a deep dive to help us really understand what goes on below the surface of our behaviour that impact the results we get. She offers clever tactics for helping sales leaders remove barriers hindering progress in a way that really lasts. A must read for any Sales Leader AND any other leader of people too!

(Spoiler Alert… I have worked alongside Leigh for several years now…. )

Having worked with Leigh I was really pleased to see this book get launched and read it from cover to cover.

For me the sections on ‘tough love’ and having those difficult conversations really hit home, as someone who has grappled with this aspect of leading and managing large teams throughout my own career, I wish I had those guidelines 25 years ago!

Overall it’s a relatively quick read and is clear and simple to understand – and implement actions immediately. In short, a ton of practical applications to help your own and your team’s mindset and approach to selling.

Because of the changes these past few years I reckon any leader, completely fresh or getting closer to retirement would get so much from this book. I know from my own career that what I learned in 1980 at business school is 100% redundant now, and to me books like this are required reading for anyone looking to make a mark in 2022 and beyond

The content has a heavy emphasis on the importance of mindset for leaders and for the people they lead. It blends this with practical guidelines for how this should play out in the cut and thrust of a modern selling environment. That makes the timing pretty good as wellbeing at work has become much more of a thing in recent years and especially through the covid era.

A great guide for today’s sales leaders.

“Grow your people grow your sales” By Leigh Ashton is not your typical sales book. For example, it is not about a sales methodology, about asking questions or following the “usual” steps of the sales process, etc, etc. This book is about mindset, not just of mindset of leadership but also the mindset of salespeople.

Leigh walks us through what makes a great leader, the 10-80-10 rule, which is a great rule for leading teams. What TFAR is, and the importance for mindset, the valley of reasons and excuses, how to understand your team(s), the importance of coaching and some simple techniques to coach, tough love and getting to know your salespeople.

There are very few sales leadership books (Sales Management Simplified by Mike Weinberg is an example) and if you are looking to move into sales leadership or are in sales leadership and want a refresher, I would certainly recommend it.

An excellent read and book for all sales leaders. Often as a sales leader, you have been promoted to your position from a record of sales achievements, as a sales leader, your role is people development and sales management. This book gives you the missing piece to grow your people to grow your sales results. Leigh Ashton is a master in mindset coaching and people development for sales success and she has given the framework in this highly recommended book.

I work for a sales coaching and training business. We found this book so accessible, digestible and comprehensive that we decided to use it as a textbook to support our learners. As a coach, the resources in the book on coaching are particularly strong. A very good addition to the library of anyone in sales.

This is an easy to read and digest book. I have been selling and leading for many years and i find that there is always something new and fresh to learn. I really liked the meta programmes piece and the data that backs up the importance and relevance of coaching. There are question lists that will help any sales leader and the author has provided access to additional resources. Highly recommended.
