But Tara would much rather be practising her backflips and learning new balances than doing maths questions or history essays, and her homework is starting to pile up. When her teachers notice her schoolwork sliding, Tara is caught between school and gym…Will Tara be able to finish all her work on time and win the gold? Girls will love this fantastic new series filled with fun, friendship and backflips.

I thought Tara’s life was hard in book 1, Summertime and Somersaults, as well as book 2 (see suggested reading for link), but I’m wrong. Having burnt out once in my life, Tara’s warning signs rang out clearly to me. Her passion is unrivalled, but she takes it a step too far. She has to lean on others to help her straighten life out. Before this happens I shared all her guilt and self-doubt. The ending had a few very pleasant surprises (which made me cey), making this a 10/10 read.

My daughter loves these books from Beth – she can relate to them as she loves her gymnastics – first books she has read more than once!

Bought this for a niece who is well into gymnastics. She really liked the story although I have to admit, when I ordered it I thought it was about gymnastic moves etc, rather than stories. However, she is pleased with it.
