I bought this book and the other Collins Handwriting book which has red, blue green on the front. If I am honest I think that one is better but I shall keep both as we may use this one also. It runs through individual letter shapes and then does a joined up word below. It also has a page on capital letters and numbers. The reason I am unsure of it is that the words are quite small and I think my 7 year old will struggle with the size. Also the guide lines are really faint (which another review pointer out) I think its quite a hard book for 5-7 personally. If you are going to buy one I would opt for the Handwriting Collins book of the same age range. However if you haven’t bought any books at all the Write well program has the best books and I think the best sizing and progression.

It’s a lovely useful book, but maybe i didn’t pay close attention as I didn’t realise the words were written in cursive or joined up writing.
In NI our kids 5-7 don’t write in cursive yet, as far as I’m aware, I know my son definitely doesn’t so only the letters are useful to go over.

We love these books and this has been fantastic in aiding our eldest with her writing. When used with several of the other books we’ve seen a real improvement with her handwriting. Would recommend if you need something to help your little ines with their writing.

I love this book, it is easy and clear and fun to use. It is perfect for a little one who wants to practise and learn. I have many of the series and they all are fantastic.

First half of the book a little tedious for a child who isn’t keen on writing in the first place but very easy to use and good exercises. Tiny bit of feedback would be that it confuses my son sometimes that the darker/full line is at the furthest points – i.e. where the top of the t would be or the furthest drop of a p, and it’s a dashed line that the body of the p sits on (and above top of body of p) – generally kids are used to the body of the p sitting on a full line. – also perhaps recommend breaking up the single letter practice with some more fun activities rather than saving them all for the second half of the book. Great for helping parents see/learn how the cursive letters are formed.
