I bought this book almost immediately after failing my CSCS test for Managers and Professionals in January 2017. I made the BIG mistake of thinking I knew my Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) subject matter as I have been a HSE Professional for over 20 years. During the multi choice, on screen test in a local CSCS Testing Centre, to my horror I realised that I did not know all the answers and so was personally embarrassed to be informed at the end of the test that I had failed.
I found this particular CITB book was an excellent revision aid and covered all areas of the CSCS modules for the Managers and Professionals test. The book takes you through the behavioural safety information that a person should know and also references the CITB website for a free video to watch to assist in the revision prior to taking the test. The book is in the form of a question usually with four responses and you must choose the correct answer, some questions have two correct answers out of the four responses given. The answers are highlighted at the bottom of each page and I found it must easier to revise by covering the page bottom with a piece of blank paper and then working through each question.
In hindsight, I should have bought this book before attempting the exam. I resat the CSCS test in early May at my local CSCS test centre again and this time passed with a 100 per cent score. I then had to send my score sheet to the CITB Records Administration and they issued me my CSCS card that will last until May 2022.
The CITB issue similar books for each type of CSCS category that a person needs to work in the Construction Industry and my advice learnt from bitter disappointment is to you – Buy the book, do the revision and pass first time.

Bougt this book recdently for my hubby, as it was the 2016 version ( same as one he was given at work) it di not have all the new things in, suggest if you are takeing the CITB test to get the more updated version . He still passed by 100% tho

It has all the questions and answers, the phone app is better and cheaper if you have a smart phone or tablet.

The MAP test on Google play is far more practical and in the same format as the actual test. I really didn’t like the fact that the answers are at the bottom of each page and having to hide them..too tempting to look at and to remember to hide if you don’t want to cheat.
