Such a lovely read. I watched the Netflix series first and was so disappointed when it ended, when the second series took me by surprise this summer I binge watched them all and have literally watched the entire series over and over and over. I then decided to get the books, initially from the library however I soon realised I wanted to own them, as like the series it’s something lovely I can read over and over and over. It’s so nice to see something so natural in such a positive way. I realise it quite often isn’t the case BUT I hope that it will educate at least some of those that need educating. My 12yo child also loves the series and the books. Massive shoutout to an amazing author.

Well, I’m old enough that I can unapologetically declare this a guilty pleasure. As such, I needed Netflix’s interest to alert me to this wonderful piece of work, as graphic comics are not something I’ve ever been interested in.
Thank goodness it’s never too late for horizons to be broadened, because I have fallen head over heels in love with these comics.
And it all starts here.
What is it about Nick and Charlie’s attraction to one another that is so addictive? I guess it’s that certain magic that some artists and authors have that can wrest the chemistry from the flat page to make it somehow three dimensional, tangible, believable.
I love getting lost in the images of the story, as it charts the pairs initial interest in each other, to when you can practically see it become attraction. Then to be brave enough to claim it, name it, and share it with the world.
This book is just feel good all the way, and begins what I believe to be, as well as adorable and oodles of fun, an incredibly important story. And, I hope you’ll agree, I think this adorable pair should join the pantheon of historic and memorable lovers from the ages: Romeo & Juliet; Anthony & Cleopatra; Catherine & Heathcliffe; Rachel & Ross; Nick & Charlie.

I had heard of the Netflix show at the beginning of 2023 and I did not think much of it then my friends said it was good so I watched it and I loved it then I found out it was in my school library so I checked them out one by one multiple times then I got all 4 volumes on the 22 of July

Such a gorgeous comic book, I can’t stop re-reading it. Even having seen the TV series there is something so special about the original comic, it makes you smile from ear to ear on every page. The foiling on the cover is gorgeous and this version contains a bonus Pride and Prejudice-inspired mini comic. I’m going to buy the whole set!

12 year old girl who is not keen on reading enjoyed this book! Although it is written in ‘comic’ form with speach bubbles coming from the characters mouths, at least she is reading!
