It seems quite unfair to rate these SQA Exam revision books when one isn’t actually studying for these exams, so I’ll try to add the perspective of my Scottish cousins rather than my own opinion.
One of them will take Higher Business Management, and I asked her to comment on the contents of the book. She said that this book is great at summarizing the course by including a table in nearly every page on the revision parts, and also pcitures to help visualise and deepeng the knowledge of information. She found the Topic Index at the end of the book a bit confusing, though, and would have preferred a regular index page for the questions instead of the weird table. The other thing she mentioned is that this is better for people to use this as a “quick revision” versus the only material for studying as she found this lacking of background materials (which the book itself states, and even gives a tip on what to read alongside it).
Overall, she’d give it a 4* for the price and easy-to-digest formula.

Find this book perfect for studying, has all the most important notes you’ll need, which are easy to find. There’s also mini questions throughout the book and exam style questions at the back which is perfect for revising. Good value for money. Would definelty recommend.

Having recently enrolled myself in a leadership and management course, I was interested in developing my knowledge. I seen this book and was curious.
Having looked though it, I have found that there is information that I can relate to, such as herzberg and maslows theory of motivation.
There is also information for staff training, the benefits to staff and also the company.
However, a lot of the information transported me back to my GCSEs in business, the 7 P’s of business etc.
I think there is parts you could relate to gcse, a levels, nvqs or degrees, you just have to be aware of what your are looking for and have an understanding of it. 4*

I received this book as part of the Amazon Vine programme as my husband & I have decided to look into starting our own business after coming out of lockdown & re-evaluating or current jobs.
My husband studied business studies at college &uni but has forgotten a lot of the small details so reading this has really helped to jog his memory & provide the basic elements in such categories as marketing & finance as well as business in general.
The exercises to test your knowledge are really helpful & help to ensure you’re taking in what you’re reading & the layout makes it easy enough to follow & helps the information stick.
Overall, it’s a great way to brush up on your overall business knowledge & gain a strong general overview.

Although you can print past papers on line to assist with studying, my child found using this much easier as it contains more helpful information

Ordered this book as I have no prior knowledge/education in this area and was hoping this will shed some light of the topic.
For me the first 15 pages were not relevant and almost fell asleep but from 16th page on, things got interesting.
Found out about the difference between stakeholders and shareholders, what are franchises, PlCs, about quantitative easing QE, organisation structure, market research, moneysupermarket website and a lot more stuff for my curiosity.
The book is well structured using images and charts as well as graphs and diagrams for easy reading and understanding of the concepts.
At the end if each chapter there are Quick Fire Questions to explore further and give valid examples. All the answers/possible answers can be found at the end of the book, so people who are preparing for the exam know how to approach answering each question.
Overall found some useful informations In this book and it was worth reading it.

Good book for some additional practice questions but not a book for sole use for revision. I think the Bright Red books are better

My girlfriend and I are planning to open a small business, she is the business guru bit I am just an engineer who doesn’t really have much knowledge on this sector. From what i read inside I can say that I now have some understanding regarding business as a whole, marketing , thinking through your actions and some finances management.
On the first couple of pages can be found instructions about the Higher business management revision guide, as well as tips and hints for SQA exams, like what are “Command words”, how marks are rewarded, how to save time and many more. Definitely a good investment for students preparing for an SQA exam.
For the past month I spent around two hours per weekend reading it and finally decided to attempt practice exams and it went fairly well (managed to get around 70% of the answers correct), which is usually what I would get at university some years ago, with a lot more time invested. I may be more mature now, but I think the revision pages were well structured, properly presented and overall very easy to keep track off. I did take notes as well, as that helps remember things better (for me personally). It is worth mentioning that there is an eBook included with this purchase, on the last page of this book you can find instructions on how to access it, which is extremely comfortable if you are away from home and want to have a read. I wish those options were viable back when I was at university.
I am very happy with book, thanks to it now I have a vision of what Business management actually is. The beginning of it may be slow, but make sure you cover all pages to get a full understanding, as I decided to jump straight to page 16, but had to go back in order to have a better foundation for Business and its role in society.
Material wise, the booklet is printed on good quality paper that doesn’t smell bad and retains its flexibility even after a month of reading. Really well earned 5 out 5 rating and will most likely buy the physics book as well.
