His Juliet: An Age Gap Hurt Comfort Mafia Romance (Empire of Royals Book 2)

They say violent delights have violent ends.
They’ll have to get through me first.

JULIET

My world is small and predictable—that’s how I’ve designed it. It doesn’t extend beyond my tiny studio apartment, the local bagel shop, and the bookstore I manage.

So, when a mysterious man crashes into the shop late one night while I’m doing inventory, I should be terrified.

But I’ve never reacted normally to danger.

And this man is as dangerous as they come… at least, for my heart.

ROMEO

The Mafia is my family—the only thing I’ve ever known and all I’ve ever needed.

Until her.

Our worlds aren’t meant to collide. My life is darkness and she is light, but I can’t stay away any longer.

When her life is in danger, the darkness within me bursts to the forefront.

We might be star-crossed lovers, but no one will keep me from my Juliet.

His Juliet is a spicy, dual first-person POV Mafia Romance with an age gap, hurt/comfort, mental illness rep, and jealous/possessive hero obsessed with his girl. This book is a standalone that ends in a HEA. See Author’s Note at the beginning of the book for full content warnings.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again and as many times as I fricken can. Emilia Rossi/Emerson is the divine ruler of representation. So far in her m*fia era, we’ve had beautiful hEDs representation and now an incredible agoraphobia rep. I can hands down say that I have never read a book with this specific disorder in it. The way it’s written is informative but not in a clinical way, more like this is what I have and this is how it effects my daily life but I’m still a baddie with pink highlights in my hair and a great a*s.

Let’s start with the plot. It’s full of action and ugly a*s villains but lots of surprises and unlikely allies. I like how our main characters are connected to the storyline so well, especially with that twist towards the end. Both Romeo and Juliet had traumatic backgrounds that were explored in a respectful way. I liked having this insight into their lives as it helped me connect with them so much. A book that makes you feel as many emotions as I went through is definitely a piece of art.

Speaking of, Romeo was as hot as I expected. He’s gorgeous (duh), funny and so obsessed, I love it. Juliet was his perfect counterpart. She’s shy but so so strong and let’s not even pretend that she wasn’t just as obsessed. These two characters are truly soulmates and may even rival my love for Matteo Sofiya! I adored how they were each other’s pillar throughout the book and how they helped each other heal.

Spice… Jesus Emilia!!! I think I actually may have blushed while reading these filthy scenes. I’m not even joking, if you go in blind, be sure to do it while you’re alone because Romeo has a filthy mouth 🤭

After thoroughly enjoying His Tesoro, I was really excited when I was able to read His Juliet, the second book in this mafia romance series.

Romeo, is Matteo’s second in command and has a reputation for being a playboy, until he meets Juliet unexpectedly.

Juliet is such a sweet character who has survived being in the foster system and living a very lonely life. Romeo is the unexpected excitement in her life.

Romeo and Juliet had beautiful chemistry and I’m always a fan of an author who gives us a plus size heroine, and her agoraphobia gives her an interesting side to her as a person. Watching her overcoming her struggles was a wonderful part of the story.

This book had a gripping plot, and with a lurking danger, expect to be on the edge of your seat whilst reading.

I received an ARC of this book.

Romeo , Romeo , Romeo how you made me swoon. He is just everything I love in a Mafia man. Juliet is just everything Romeo didn’t know he needed and boy does she bring him to his knees. This book was action-packed and filled with plenty of twists throughout. I am sat here swooning for this hot , hot Man that knows how to love his Juliet. Everyone needs a Romeo. I loved every second of this book and i cant wait to read what’s next from this author.

    ARC received.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely adored this book and that as soon as I finished the last page I wanted to scroll back to the beginning and start reading it all over again! This author has a way of making me feel like her books are written specifically for me and I truly enjoyed every single line on every single page. If you want to read a book that feels like a warm hug this is the one, I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole way through. I love the way the relationship between our main characters plays out, the push and pull managed to be deliciously angsty without feeling frustrating. As always in Emilia’s books the relationship at the heart of the story gave me both a deep sense of comfort and made me emotional as hell. My favourite part is in all the little (and big) things Romeo does to make Juliet’s life easier and happier, I truly am obsessed with that man. The third act felt well balanced and didn’t overpower the ending of the book. I have no notes on this one, because I wouldn’t change a single sentence. This is quickly becoming a favourite series of all time by a favourite author of all time and I’m beyond excited to read whatever she decides to write next.

Please check the trigger warnings before reading!

firstly a HUGE thank you to emilia rossi for sending me an arc, my dreams came true and i’m beyond grateful🥹
    now for the review!
i didn’t think anything could top ‘his tesoro’(the first book) but this book was absolutely ASTOUNDING!
the writing and plot was so beautifully executed, not to mention how amazing the characters were! every character was so well rounded and had so many different qualities that made the book that much more enjoyable. even down to the side characters, i loved all of it!
one of my favourite aspects was getting to see matteo and sofiya and sienna in this book too! and noodle ofc! i’m secretly (not so secretly) hoping for a sienna book🤭
romeo and juliet are undoubtedly one of my roman empire couples! the utter love and adoration between them was truly so delightful to read. aside from that their chemistry was undeniable and so palpable.
i can’t explain how fully immersed i was into this book but i can for SURE tell you this book will forever have a special place in my heart. watching juliet’s struggles and how much romeo helped her face each one of them was, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most inspiring things i’ve ever read about in a book. i saw so many pieces of myself in juliet and her struggles and her character resonated with me so much!
romeo’s love for juliet was the true definition of ‘unconditional love’ and i will forever think of how much every girl needs their own romeo!
watching these two fall for each other was unbelievably wonderful!
this book was full of pain yet so much happiness, grief yet also somehow so much love. this book truly exceeded my expectations and filled my heart with heaps of love, joy and happiness. what a true pleasure of a book to get to experience!
    ♾️stars out of five🤭
