When you have a few spare minutes, a delightful and poetic read.

I realise it’s trendy to like Thomas’ work But I do – I really do love his prose. He paints with words. I moved to South wales recently and picked up my late father’s love of the welsh bard (I’m also lucky enough to have been in contact with the owners of his birth house in Swansea). This very short story paints a picture of days long gone, a day at the seaside, the tram ride to Mumbles (you can still see the remains of the footbridge which crossed the tracks) etc.. I love it; every time I read it I see a different picture

Childhood memories evoked so beautifully in this small treasure of a book ” Willy’s bleeding on the cheese,” and you can certainly taste the grit of sand in your sandwiches. I loved it.
